Picked Super Sebring instead, Rolex 24 is on the list eventually, probably after Watkins Glen but before Road America, Lime Rock, and Mosport

For those hoping DPi would be "unleashed" without P2, lol nah not really. Considering how mad Acura and Mazda were about costs, I'm surprised they are even getting these tiny adjustments, tbh. Weights cut anywhere from zero to 20kg, and some tiny power increases (mostly with more boost at the top end). And guess what, Cadillac got both the biggest weight cut and biggest power improvement. Great. https://racer.com/2018/12/21/roar-before-the-24-bop-tables-released/ also the roar list is out https://racerdigital.files.wordpress.com/2018/12/2019_IWSC_Roar_Provisional_EntryList.pdf

like the BoP won't be adjusted about three more times before Mid-Ohio. also I'm probably fever dreaming but the possibility that Ferrari is joining the Le Mans 'hypercar' regulations opens the door that somebody else on the F1 grid currently developing a hypercar based on their F1 tech could adapt that for Le Mans use...

Here's a fun one, seems like an astronomically long shot but helll I'm down for it if it happens. http://www.dailysportscar.com/2018/12/21/g-drive-looking-to-2020-dpi-programme.html G-Drive Oreca 4.5L Gibson LMP1 engine plus some Russian manufacturer providing bodywork. Lada to DPi, boys Real talk though, what sportscar manufacturer in Russia would be interested in IMSA? I can't even think of a current Russian sportscar manufacturer

Mazda gonna Audi: https://racer.com/2019/01/02/major-changes-ahead-for-mazda-team-joest/ Leena Gade joining up as the #77 race engineer, Brad Kettler coming on as a "consultant". But Ralf Juttner's no longer overseeing the program, and his second-in-command Jan Lange has been promoted to run it instead. And the #55 also has a new race engineer formerly of Multimatic's Ford GT program, Dave Wilcox. Also, Olivier Pla and Timo Bernhard are going to be the enduro drivers this year instead of Pigot and Rast.

That is carefully worded for a reason. Wouldn't be shocked if Team Joest wind up also doing a WEC 'hypercar' program as well. and yeah Mazda Team Joest is really loaded for bear this year. Gonna be interesting to watch.

I think you're right that somebody wants Joest running a top spec WEC program in 2020 and Juttner's gone back to Europe to start the groundwork, since MTJ is now pretty well established. Also I was half wrong: it turns out that Rene Rast isn't out completely, but is merely going to serve as a fourth driver for the #77 at Daytona and Sebring.

I'm sure that goes both ways at times like this. Of course, they were only part of the program with Audi -- Dallara did some of the tub work IIRC -- but they certainly have more capacity than MTJ is taking at the moment, especially as it sounds like MTJ is running out of shops in the US (which, yeah, that's how it'd have to be run). guys the Roar before the 24 is this weekend
