As Nero Danced posted:You probably don't know but just in case, does this go for officers as well or just enlisted? The basic recruitment standards and waiver policies are the same for everybody, iirc. The competitiveness of the program you're trying to get (ROTC scholarship, OTS...) will probably be a factor in whether or not they bother with the waiver process, though. As Nero Danced posted:You probably don't know but just in case, does this go for officers as well or just enlisted? I just finished OTS in November and the consensus was that there was a huge push for Rated, Cyber, Intel and Aerospace Engineers. OTS is backlogged all to hell, classes are getting more massive and the acceptance rate on AD officer boards was higher in the past few years than before. Milo and POTUS posted:Tats disqualify you? https://www.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/1045846/af-evolves-policies-to-access-more-talent-maintain-high-standards/ My bad apparently its: For other branches, Asthma at any age after 13 is un-waiverable. For the AF, if you have a "ambiguous or vague history of asthma" and can pass a "methacholine challenge test" then you can be waived in. For ADHD: "ADHD: Candidates who do not meet the standard of never having taken more than a single daily dosage of medication or not having been prescribed medication for their condition for more than 24 cumulative months after the age of 14 will be processed for a waiver if they have demonstrated at least 15 months of performance stability (academic or vocational) off medication immediately preceding enlistment or enrollment and they continue to meet remaining criteria as outlined in Defense Department Instruction 6130.03."

I got waived for ADHD back in 2008. Of course that was the Iraq surge. Good test scores and no criminal record helped. Dickeye from CineD joined about the same time, lied about it and got kicked out. Mentioning it several years later would still make him flip out.

I was told it's up to a two year process for getting to OTS, and that's with being in service/prior from another branch being more competitive but still competing with off the street folks. Long wait list for folks to statistically be predisposed to bailing

Long wait list for folks to statistically be predisposed to bailing It depends on timing. There are only a couple of selection boards per year, and sometimes they get cancelled. So if you miss the submission deadline, you're stuck waiting a year. After the board, it can take a couple of months for you to get the results. Then you can get a class date anywhere from 30 days out to about 300.

So what you're saying is if you need a waiver go enlist in seattle.

Ugh I'm having a lovely start to 2019, I bit my tongue really bad in my sleep last night and lost somewhere between 500mL to a litre of blood. Took an hour to get it to stop bleeding and it's so swollen I can't even move my tongue without it hurting. Had to call my dad to come over cause I felt I was going to pass out. Dunno if it was because of all the blood lost or cause of my fear of blood. Then I puked most of the night cause of all the blood I swallowed. This is going to be a lovely year

I don't know. When I woke up I knew I bite it but not that bad. There's a big blood stain on my mattress and everything now. Guess I'm eating soup the next while

Like god drat dude. Yeah I've nipped the tip of my tongue and cursed about hurting myself for a few days but what the gently caress did you do, bring a steak knife to bed and go to town on your tongue for a midnight snack?

I didn't sleep the 31st at all so maybe I passed out with my tongue hanging out? My mom thought I had a seizure cause that's what happened to her when she had them but there were no signs other than my chomping the gently caress outta my tongue

realistic or not the readiness standards for medication and poo poo are always based off worst case scenario they don't want people going off their meds, regardless of how likely it is or what the real impact will be it's being a huge pain in the dick right now because retention is in the toilet but the quotas haven't really dropped

No I was super tired cause I didn't sleep at all the day before. I've been, errrrr, extremely irresponsible the last couple weeks so maybe everything just culminated in this. I've done like 20 grams of shrooms, some acid, and white stuff the past 2 weeks. I should probably stop trying to destroy myself but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
