there was a guy that did this in something silly like a Geo Metro and when they finally caught them i don't remember the punishments being felony tier serious

but also iirc that might have been Canada

What can they even charge him with? Toll evasion for the one time they saw him go through, driving without a license plate, and maybe some kind of fraud involving altering his plate, but a decent lawyer I'd think could easily argue that it's not the same as if he painted on different numbers or whatever. It's just a little more elaborate than putting one of those dumb tinted lenses over the plate or whatever, which is a fix-it ticket, not a criminal charge.

Just think, they haven't fitted the working engine yet.

And I hope the whole paint segment is a 2 second wipe after months of hype.

Secretly hoping they get the paint done lowrider style with like 15 layers of clear over the top.

I wonder if they're going to go over the upholstery and paint the way they've gone into detail on the rest of the car, or just do a blurb about material/color/finish and then show the finished products.

Brilliantly terrible.

Might even have been slightly better if it was the original E36 lights that slid upwards for no good reason.

The covers retract down and under the headlamps horizontally, and then the lamp assemblies slide up, revealing fog/driving lamps behind them.

I've always like the Riviera clamshells, so this option appeals to me. Somewhere in the middle, as it were.

edit: make them roll over 180 degrees like the C4 Corvette.
