We miscalculated how high that floor was and how angry R voters were. Once Trump won the nomination, it was no longer a surprise that he could win. If your name is on the Republican or Democratic ticket, you are pretty much guaranteed 38-40% of the popular vote no matter how bad of a candidate you are, and the only thing that really changes that is whether there is a strong third party candidate.

She should not have had to explain progressive taxation to Anderson Cooper. That was unfair of him. I don't recall any of the teabagger class in 2010 being asked "how will you pay for it?" when they proposed massive tax cuts for rich people. Glad to see she's not afraid to explain herself, though. I think Trump somehow ended funding of those NGOs shortly after he was inaugurated (as did like every other republican president I think). Cooper knows, but a lot of people watching 60 Minutes don't understand marginal taxes or that paying for large-scale social programs is something that's possible.
