They do those bases in 25mm too. There's Sector Mechanicus industrial ones too.

I'm illiterate and I meant Sector Mechanicus but now that I look at the Sector Imperials ones they're sufficiently industrial for my tastes plus the added bonus of random skulls.

Odd, I literally just picked up some of the 25mm necromunda bases about a month ago. Now I'm getting a 404 on the page where they used to be.

Edit: looks like you can still find them on ebay, if that helps.

Badger are doing their birthday sale thing again. I think I'm gonna pick up a Sotar for fine detail to go with my Patriot 105.

Would you lovely goons provide a tldr/introduction post on which airbrush to get and why?

I have never airbrushed but y’all make it sound super awesome and I want to learn. I still want to save money but if this is a ridiculously good once a year sale then I can pounce now.

That post has a ton of info.

Specifically about the badger sale, I'd say don't get a Sotar or other detail brush as your only airbrush.

I recommend learning with the cheapest Master brand airbrush you can find on Amazon. Even as an intermediate air brusher, I use them for most of the heavy lifting.

Most of the learning curve is troubleshooting and keeping it spraying. If you strip a nozzle thread or clog the poo poo out of it, you won't feel bad about your $14 brush.

Anyone done this deal in the past? Was thinking of getting a Renegade Krome. I followed the instructions for this deal and got an email on what to do.

It says the 55 dollars is for the airbrush only and I was wondering if they mean literally the airbrush only.

I'm not expecting it to come with hose connections and such but will I need to get a needle/nozzle kit add-on for it as well? If so I'm not saving a whole lot versus amazon where its bundles with that stuff.

It's the airbrush, fittings, and a needle. I got a 105 and it's a great sale.

I'll Fetch My Sarcasm Robes
I have three badger airbrushes:
  • Patriot 105 - Great all around brush, easy to operate, clean and maintain, will spray just about anything you put into it. Wide spray pattern and huge paint cup so it's great for basecoating, primer and larger models.
  • Renegade Krome - Detail brush, it's big and heavy, finicky and inconvenient to operate/clean (you have to remove the back to take out the needle). I changed from UltraFine to Fine needle so I can use it to spray metalics, but I don't use it for anything else.
  • Sotar 202 - Detail brush, small and easy to maneuver, tiny paint cup, a little picky about what it will spray. Tiny paint cup and tiny spray pattern would be a nightmare for basecoating, and I wouldn't dare put primer through it.

For first time airbrushers I'd get a 105, either normal or :krad: XTREME :krad:
if you've already got a 105 and looking for a detail brush, I'd get the Sotar. Unless you have enormous manhands then get the Krome.

Use the fine needle and you're fine to prime with Krome. Make sure to flush it afterwards. An ultrasonic cleaner helps too.

If those are the same as they used to be, they’re the 25mm bases. You might want to just email the guy and see if he’s still around.

Otherwise you might wind up double dipping on bases and 32mm adapter rings.
