Like the entire direct deposit? That'd make sense, and make it a waste of time (as you said) unless you really needed it.

I couldn't find a 'general banking questions' thread so I hope it's okay to ask here: is there a better way to transfer money internationally than bank to bank? I have Italian relatives who want to send me (in Australia) a gift of ~€2000, but they're grumbling about the bank fees and have asked me to see if there's any cheaper (but still simple/secure) way to transfer it. Googling international money transfer only brings up services trying to advertise to me, which all seem to have a mixed bag of 5-star and 1-star reviews when I dig a little deeper. I personally don't really care about the fees if bank-to-bank is the fastest/most secure/simplest system, but I figured it can't hurt to see if there's an alternative that will make my relatives happier. Italians trying to avoid taxes and banks? Why I don't believe you! International wire transfer is the fastest and most secure. They could probably also write you a check and mail it but I would ask your bank first.

2,000€ isn’t that much, get it in five hundreds and hire someone who’s coming to Australia to carry it in their pocket.

I really hope my relatives don't think of this because if they do they'll probably consider it a viable option. Anyway, thanks for confirming my suspicion that bank fees are just the cost of business here, I'll pass it along and see what happens.

I was serious about writing a check and mailing it. It might only cost the postage, but even if there is a fee it is likely far cheaper than the wire. It also will definitely take a month or more to get the money.

(Cross-post from programming thread) Does anyone know of any resources that track financial news article performance? Doing a Google search for "financial news article track records" doesn't produce relevant results. A random scan of a few financial news articles at any point appears to produce a few vague, but quantifiable predictions over time spans ranging from a week to a year. I'm suspicious that all predictions, including ones from respected sources, are no better than random, since my understanding from statistics is that any nonrandom prediction can be leveraged into large profits using derivatives. This includes price changes (or lack-thereof) of any kind.

I made almost $1,000 in half a day of poker. I need to stay disciplined with my income and budget to build a bankroll. I didn’t think the card rooms around here would be so profitable. There’s a real chance I can supplement my income consistently.

Turns out they want me to make lots of ads and post consistently and Im the only one doing it. I have no loving idea what im doing and I'm out of ideas and its over half the job. They are really happy with what Ive done so far. What are some good resources to learn from? Sources to follow? Articles to read about techniques etc? I want to get good at it. My personal rule for furniture-- Always hire movers. Buy used where it makes sense. Anything I use more than 2 hours a day should be a great version of it. Like, I spent a ton on a down-filled chaise lounge but I don't even own a dining room table. My computer desk is from Ikea because it ultimately doesn't matter in terms of utility but my chair is a Herman Miller because that does matter in terms of utility. I also won't be changing my tastes very much and some of the pieces I own are "famous" pieces that rarely if ever go out of style, so I can basically buy once and be done with it. underage at the vape shop posted:Hi What you're doing for that company is an actual specialized profession. It's hard. And competitive. Luckily you see to be in a position where you're kinda just doing things and people don't expect much. On the other hand, you don't have anyone teaching you anything so that's really bad. Without knowing what you're doing exactly, I would Google something like: Sales Facebook ads Facebook ads best practices A/B test Facebook ads Facebook ad targeting [your industry] That can at least get you started. To start, what you want to do is have a variety of copy (the text) and images. The copy should speak directly to what you're offering and what you want the person to do, and the image should pair with it to create a clear visual cue. Then you see who's responding to your ads and how they're performing-- which ones get the most clicks, what you're spending per click, and how quickly your ads begin significantly increasing in cost to generate those clicks. You can try to target different types of people, seeing how each audience responds to your copy and text. Some audiences might react differently to different messages. And if you have the emails of your customers, you can upload it to Facebook to try to create audiences that "look alike" the customers you've just given them. Or if you have people who haven't bought from you for a while but you feel they would buy from you if you could contact them, you could create that list and reach out to them via social ads. Once you feel like you have a general grasp of how to advertise on Facebook and how to use audiences, then you can start to look at ROI from Facebook ads, Facebook tracking pixel, and LTV analysis. Oh, and never, ever, ever gently caress up the Daily Limit vs Lifetime Limit. Ever. Good luck. Blinkman987 fucked around with this message at 08:10 on Jan 22, 2019 |
