I listen to the song if I like the first 10 seconds of it. Otherwise I hit the 30 sec skip button until I hear Jah reading the date/time.

Same for me. I give the song a bit to play out. I'm glad they started listing the source material. I've picked up a few artists from Jah. 75% of the time I tap the 30 sec button until I hear Johnathan.

I listen to the songs about half the time, just really depends on if it grabs me or not, or how ready I am to just have some yuks. Sometimes I'll go back and listen to songs I skipped after finishing the episode.

Regarding old episodes, I find the older material to have a lot more laughs per minute and it is very relistenable. I'm not really bothered by them using various cuss word that are unfashionable nowadays though. The older stuff had a harder edge to it and was often mean spirited, which can be really funny depending on your personality and mood. New stuff, especially 2018, has been great as well. 2015 - 2016 was pretty rough with Seth basically carrying the show through many episodes as Jonathan sunk deeper and deeper into depression.

As far as a TV show. I've always though a simple format of clips from their filmed podcast in the studio, interspersed with them watching tv together and commenting on it, and then segments where they go and tour interesting or weird places around LA would work really well. Add in a great soundtrack and long shots of the 'dance cruising the LA streets at dawn and youve got a hit on your hands.

That or just animate Seth's rants, like they did with the Ricky Gervais podcast.

Best case scenario is an E! Or TMZ show where Seth can review bad TV and it’s basically the Hollywood Game Night edit as a show

Medical drama pilot

I was rooting for the Bears just so we'd get Cowboys vs Saints. They could have livestreamed the two of them watching the game. Still possible in the NFC championship game but I don't see the Cowboys getting through the Rams.

Great Ask Amy in 418 I didn't remember: married man takes a vacation with an ex-girlfriend, comes home claiming nothing happened, but he can't remember the last week of his life. Wife wonders if maybe something's fishy here?

Jon posted a 50 minute video last night on Instagram with Seth and Seth said that he did get tickets to the game this weekend. The video is pretty much a UYD episode so check t out.

Listening to 438 and glad I had forgotten Seth making fun of that Neil Young song that's like "end fracking now" before I saw First Reformed (sung by the choir at the funeral), really would have changed that scene.

Even aside from how much I love the show it's a crazy achievement to do the same thing for 13 years and everyone's still happy with it. I mean bits come and go but today's episode would be totally recognizable to someone from 2006 and vice versa.

Sans the casual homophobia, misogyny, transphobia and racism of the early episodes yeah.

But still! Congrats uyd and thank you to this thread for introducing me to what become my favourite podcast a good, uhhhhh god, eight years ago.
e: they should go the classic $5 for a bonus ep a week route i reckon. or even a bonus ep every second week. i know they tried the 2 eps a week and i think it was too much for them. so maybe if they put one behind a paywall and recorded a bunch of backlogs for it then it would work.

I recently started re-listening from the very start and was pretty surprised by this, and just how fully-formed the show is from episode 1. I'm not sure exactly when I first started listening but one of the earliest bits I remember and keep going back to is when Seth meets Beyonce (ep 450).

Yeah I went back to the beginning too for the first time since maybe 4 years ago and holy poo poo. I forgot how much they say retard, retarded, human being, etc all in super negative connotations. Dropping hard r's too not in reference to anything like hip hop song of the week. I'm only on episode 15 and Jon has called someone or something a "retarded human being" probably 50 times it feels like. Episodes are super solid even from episode 1, but it's pretty jarring just listening along and 5 time an episode Jon jumpscares me with his angry human being tongue. 2006 was a good time
