I remember enjoying Crystal Chronicles until getting to the end, losing to the boss because we didn't have enough memories or whatever to win, then putting it down because we didn't want to play half the game again to do that and get back to that point.

Awkward Zombies is probably one of the best game webcomics out there. (though, guess that's not a highbar to clear, but her stuff is really good) My favorite one is how she finally gets to play Marth in FE, and ends up realizing how WAY different her interpretation of Marth is. Plus the payoff with Roy being back in Smash.

I think the design intention was to make it so that the best-laid plans always go wrong but instead it just makes me go "ugh, if only I were a little better at the game I could achieve my goal" and try again endlessly. If I'm right about the design goal then I think it would have been better achieved by adding more actual out-of-player-hands RNG. Let me see enemy ranges and snap to headshots and auto-position grenades so that I get double kills without needing to play minigames unrelated to the tactical component I'm here for. Take only scouts and just run to the end of every mission for best ranks
