Driver survived with some injuries, out of hospital today. This is essentially a brand new sign, was put up mid last year when that freeway was widened, this is the main route between the city and the airport (although the sign is located on an offramp) so somebody hosed up bigtime. https://twitter.com/9NewsMelb/status/1082797537893871616 (reminder, driver sits on the right in australia) drunkill fucked around with this message at 05:05 on Jan 9, 2019 |

Construction worker on the I-4 Ultimate project in Orlando fell about 40 feet yesterday while his father was recertifying with us. He broke basically every bone from the jaw down and “all of his teeth are loose.”

Memento posted:Channel9 got some dashcam footage from right behind her. Were she a second later, could that sign have guillotined the car? Speaking of timing, this happened around me last year. https://www.mcall.com/opinion/muschick/mc-opi-lehigh-tunnel-turnpike-accident-falling-conduit-muschick-20180501-story.html A truck hit a piece of electrical conduit dangling from the ceiling of a tunnel. It hit and killed the driver. The initial reports were that he was just perfectly timed to get killed, a second later it would have hit the top of the truck, a second earlier it would have hit the road, but in the article I posted it seems it may have just been dangling. Either way, it was awful and I drive through that tunnel a lot so it's freaky. The conduit is still above the roadway. AFewBricksShy fucked around with this message at 13:52 on Jan 9, 2019 |

Reminds me of something I saw a few weeks ago. I had to make a last minute wrapping paper run for some Christmas presents and wow that load is way too big for that SUV- oh I was impressed with how well the car held up. Hooray safety standards I guess. If someone was inside they would've been fine after a change of pants. Renegret fucked around with this message at 14:05 on Jan 9, 2019 |

The latter. The machine broke, I had to replace the junction box to get it back in service ASAP, and the only one we had available with the correct current rating was a fused disconnect. Works great.
