Good show, great production values, each episode is wonderfully written, ~amazing~ special effects (especially for the time); but ultimately it was a product of its era and fell prey to the 00's usual issues. Namely, throwing spaghetti at the wall for the over-arching plot which ultimately either took the wind out of its own sails or just made the wonderful in-episode writing pointless.  Still a wonderful show which influenced a lot of modern television and helped to mainstream sci-fi in many critical eyes.  that Amazon suggested Babylon 5 as soon as the finale rolled credits.

Everyone who's watching the new season The Magicians when it comes out, should rewatch the first part of the first episode. The foreshadowing makes so much sense now after the end of the last season.

I'm too lazy to mute the tv and open Spotify to find out, but from memory they were actually pretty okay, not amazing but on the level of like I dunno System of a Down at least, and that the singer told SPIN magazine that his biggest influence was Morrissey, which is why they didn't have typical awful nu-metal vocals

Okay I just looked on youtube and one of the indie infotainment channels I dig (Lie Likes Music, he's European) actually has a video about how the Deftones are legit, even talking about how they got into shoegaze elements and basically sounded like Jesu at one point I swear that's not my chanel lol Edit: lmfao they've been called "the radiohead of metal" lol Edit 2: and they're fans of Depeche mode too man hell yeah

I have a local Soul and R&B station, it's a weak signal that fights with a country station in spots, but goddamn when it comes in it's the best station.FactsAreUseless posted:It is a film for parents to put on at a birthday party so they can go drink in peace. I've seen Deftones live like 4 times. They're legit as gently caress and were/are not just standard nu-metal. I'm struggling to comprehend the idea of people listening to the radio in 2019. You guys know that stuff like spotify and apple music exist right? you can play your own music, whatever you want, whenever you want. Even before then, CDs existed, and aux ports for an mp3 player. I've owned a car since 2006, and I've never once listened to the radio

I like the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show on BBC 6 Music because I enjoy him as a DJ. I appreciate his enthusiasm for the music. Less so with stuff on the main channels like BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2, which I don't really listen to any more, but genre-specific radio shows can benefit a lot from a presenter who really loves the music they're playing.

I've worked at a lot of places the radio is the only option. Also Vancouver's classic rock station owns in general, been listening to it my whole life. They do a block of radio plays every Sunday and it gives me life.
