Mousa Dembele (the Spurs one) to Beijing Guoan for £11m is a thing

didn't the Chinese FA change up rules on foreign transfers to stop the sorts of mega-deals we saw a couple years back?

His contract is up in the summer so any money is fine. Really sad to see him go - especially without a solid replacement - but it's definitely time. He'll be unstoppable in the Chinese league.

Oozing machismo
He's basically a permacrock at this point, so getting some money for him when the contract is up in the summer seems fine.

He had told the club that he wanted to go to China because his body can't handle the premier league anymore and I guess he wants that one big paycheck to retire on.

supposedly newcastle were willing to break their transfer record to sign miguel almiron until he demanded £100k a week. Which I'm sure we all believe is definitely true and not just Newcastle selectively leaking news to explain why we don't sign anyone

Is Miguel Almiron good? I only became aware of him this week due to playing FM 19 Mobile and suddenly every decent kid on that game is in the papers linked with a move (Militao, De Ligt etc).

Like from what I can tell he is a loving beast in the MLS but I don't know how that translates these days.

He was good at Torino when he was there as well, not great but one of the better players. I was surprised he moved to MLS. That said he's easily one of the top 2 or 3 MLS players.

he's elite in MLS, probably a squaddie at a good club or a starter on a mid table club. he maybe had some upside too

Wrong Atlanta player, actually, you're thinking of Martinez.

I think Almiron is good enough to play in England, he's got enough pace and skill, and has proven that he can handle the abuse from physical defenders even though he's not a big guy. His finishing is inconsistent, but he is really good on the counter and sets up a lot of opportunities for teammates.

It had been clear the Wales international would move in the summer and Juventus had been the frontrunners to secure the 28-year-old’s signature. Ramsey will be paid around £140,000 a week (£7.2m a season), making him Juventus’s second-highest earner behind Cristiano Ronaldo but ahead Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa.

Crespo scored 20 in 49, which is more than I thought, but you'd expect better from him. It's more that they sent him on loan twice in that period.

I looked up Torres to compare and he scored 20 in 110. Had no idea he played more league games for Chelsea than he did at Liverpool. Would have thought half that!

Good list! Anelka did bang them in during Ancelottis title win.

Forgot Pato even joined. Think he scored a penalty once.

Multi I almost added but forgot if he played striker or wing. I learned my lesson about getting a name on a jersey after that guy.
