Pete Evans is a gibbering moron. There is nothing about him or his life that isn't absolute wank. Anything that he can do to push his stupid ideas and sell books he will do. As was posted earlier this includes promoting staring directly at the sun with no eye protection to promote 'good health.'

Whether he always got high on his own supply or if he just lived the lie so long that it become true is up to the reader to guess but this guy is one of the most poisonous people in existence - all dressed up as a trendy chef.

This place is a message… and part of a system of messages… pay attention to it! Sending this message was important to us. We considered ourselves to be a powerful culture.

This place is not a place of honor…no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here… nothing valued is here.

What is here is dangerous and repulsive to us. This message is a warning about danger.

The danger is in a particular location… it increases toward a center… the center of danger is here… of a particular size and shape, and below us.

The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours.

The danger is to the body, and it can kill.

The form of the danger is an emanation of energy.

The danger is unleashed only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

I believe David Paich has claimed the song is written from the perspective of someone who has never been to Africa and is guessing what it is like there. Exactly what he is trying to prove here is unclear, because a) he wrote the song; and b) he'd never been to Africa and was only guessing what it was like there.
