The hormones released by a sexual situation involving the anus being broached, are the same hormones found in large quantities in effeminate homosexual males. For example, when I was much younger I knew a young man who was for all intents and purposes, heterosexual. He was mugged, and involved in a rape situation involving a tent peg. This one event was enough to have him start on a road that eventually led to him becoming effeminate and gay." all fantasy/scifi authors are creeps

I've read every dragonriders novel published before about 1996 and I don't recall any overly weird sexual stuff. Is that a later phenomena (like any Anita Blake novel after about #5) or am I just not recalling it 20 years later?

Did you read the short story collections because they contain some of her attempts to break into the space erotica market. Apart from some big age gaps and the whole sharing your mind with your horny dragon stuff the Pern books are pretty tame by standards of the genre.

The whole dragon sex ritual forcing its human riders to gently caress thing gets a little odd. The White Dragon also has this scene as described by the wiki: “Jaxom becomes affected by the emotions of the green Dragon, and the Weyrlingmaster lets him leave, but Ruth takes him to Corana and the two — unexpectedly, in Corana's case — make love again. The next day, Jaxom is remorseful at his act, and isn't sure if he wants to continue being Corana's lover, although Ruth abruptly reveals that he knows Corana enjoyed their love-making; he could sense her thoughts while they were together.”

I don’t think I got the rapey implication of the dragons psychic link when I was a kid. It’s a pretty small portion of the books though. This reminded me of Harry Turtledove’s alt-history (aliens invade) WW2 books, those had some weird explicit sex scenes, on top of being very bad.
