Very disappointed he didn't break out the colored pencils for the cover.

Holy poo poo, I had forgotten all about how terrible that comic was and he has done nothing to improve. Not only is the 'style' poo poo, it's poorly implemented as well. Why would someone do that, the existing artist was pretty great. There's no way I can tolerate this ugly crap, so I guess I'm done with the comic until I remember to look at it again and hope it swaps back. Way to go guy. It's....technically improved since Dominic Deegan? People have noses in profile now at least.

I know we're reminiscing about our youth misspent having thoughts and feelings about Dominic Deegan now, but as far as CYOA-y webcomics go All Night Laundry is a pretty good one about personal anxieties, time travel, and extra-dimensional horror. At the very least, the creator seems like a chill guy instead of a weird goon that lets teenagers mod his comment section the way bogleech does for awful hospital

Are there any CYOA comics that are traditional format where you choose the next action yourself? I doubt anyone's really put in the effort of drawing it all, but it'd be a fun ride.

Also, "never read the comments section" is a rule that should never be broken regardless of the comic's format. It's a CYOA adventure comic; the comments section leaks into each update as a matter of practice.

Those people are morons and every plot point and character from start to finish is an ill-conceived cardboard standee, a PC from one of Mookie's tabletop rpg games, or both.

You know, it's a little weird in execution (Why would you bother with page numbers for a non-linear online story?) but I can appreciate the effort put into this, even if it is pretty short and doesn't seem to have updated since 2014.

Highlights include an attempt to make a heroic rapist, and one of the bad guys being the only cool and relatable character, so he kept making him more and more over the top evil to try and stop it. Also a fever dream of an arc where the main character's little brother, in a very self-serious fantasy comic, used his magic powers to become this: girl dick energy fucked around with this message at 10:40 on Jan 16, 2019 |

Also, there was the time that the thread managed to find Mookie's dead girl porn while looking for pre-loaded comics. Which he stored on his comic website. In a publically accessible folder.

Other gems I'm just now remembering: Mookie got lazy about updating the character bios page, so he decided to just link to the comic's wikipedia page instead. And then Wikipedia took the page down for not being notable. The great and terrible price that the hero's girlfriend has to pay near the end is being made sterile. Multiple times, women are shown dead on-panel with lots of cleavage sticking out. Dominic scares away the big bad eldritch monster on two separate occasions, first by making a giant teddie bear, and then later by disguising himself as an interdimensional crab cop.

Phy posted:I never read it, this would be awesome except for all the other stuff people have said about DD A lot of DD storylines sound pretty awesome in concept but in execution everything is unearned and lands with a thud. Dominic wins not because he's resourcesful and clever, he wins because no one can ever, ever be smarter or cooler than Dominic. So he just pulls something stupid out of his rear end and it works because Dominic always needs to win.
