Well the guy who invented the thing you plug your controller into and it shows your inputs on stream, convinced a non agdq streamer to fly out to the event and stay with him, and because he paid for the flight and room thought this obligated her to have sex with him. When she didn't he kicked her out of his room and cancelled her return flight ticket. He ate a lifetime ban. And had increasingly desperate Twitter meltdowns where he threatened to blackmail everyone at the event unless they gave him his badge back within 12 hours. So that's pretty good cringey drama.

SNES games as part of the yearly sub is pretty great. $20/year (hopefully it stays that low) is an incredible price considering they have sold all of those games for $10-20 a pop before.

Jay Carney posted:Which should I buy to scratch my JRPG itch since octopath is Boring me to death, the new tales game or xenoblade (will be my first time with either series) I like Xenoblade 2 a lot, but it's real messy with poo poo tons of bolted on RPG systems that makes it tough to engage with. Vesperia is really rightly focused and if you have any desire to play in handheld it runs way better too.

Xenoblade easily, I’m playing Vesperia now and the combat just doesn’t feel very good in Vesperia. It seems more for nostalgia than anyone else. I wish a better Tales game was on the switch. I heard people say Vesperia gets better in late game but that’s a long investment.

You can also dress up your party in ridiculous outfits Xenoblade has a lot of different concepts and mechanics vying for your attention and can be overwhelming at times but I think it's possible to enjoy the game without paying too much attention to these, including the infamous gacha system. It has incredible music.

I'm a big fan of Vesperia but I would kill for Graces F, one of my favourites in the series. Berseria would be nice too since it's been taunting me during steam sales for a while now.

Berseria has the most fun combat of any game in the series, but also has almost 10 years of development on the combat systems beyond Vesperia. Vesperia combat sucks for most of Act 1, but then opens up a bit later in the act as you get more skills, fatal strikes, overlimit, and burst artes. By Act 2 it smooths out enough to be less "frustrating" and more "fun"

Berseria loses me because you can auto-pilot too easily and Velvet boils down to R2ing endlessly. It's fast, which is good cause it means I don't have to engage with it much, but I generally want to engage with the gameplay side of my RPGs. edit: Seconding the other dude's desire for Graces though, plot was kind of a mess, but I enjoyed it a lot.

The nature of the skill system makes things improve as the game progresses. The new features you get around Act 2 give you more to do in combat other than just attack and artes ~30 hours you've got all of the features and enough skills/sp to improve the combos and speed New game plus lets you ignore the skill system entirely and basically just use every skill
