I do seriously mean it when I say Fallout 3 was a good, or at least enjoyable, game (terrible ending though). It's just unfortunate that New Vegas came along fairly soon afterwards and basically did everything better, which threw 3's flaws into sharper relief and mean it is often remembered as a worse game than it was.

FO3 gets the same hate that most "late in series but mainstream popular" games get. sometimes its undeserved sometimes it is. cases in point. FO3 was good once modders ironed out poo poo people were completely into that portion of the wasteland even if they didnt like all the dialogue options. then new vegas came out and merged the best of the old with the best of the new and it was over. FF7 is bad and ugly but the first mainstream rpg using (at the time) pretty graphics and to be advertised on tv SF5 is kind of bland (because character play styles are limited) but gets promoted way better than sf games of the past. if the Dad questing of fallout 3 never existed and they had used the time spent making that to put in a couple more neat settlements with quests or something it would still have been stupid but very good. I never became a cultist of fallout 2 because referential humor often stinks badly of poo poo! I hope The Outer Worlds is closer to deus ex or bloodlines than fallout in scope and design

Kenny's a Capcom fanboy and will go to bat for them in spite of how good or bad whatever game they released is. And while I prefer SFV over IV, it does suffer from the problem where there's no real character variety or interesting mechanics and the V-Trigger mechanic makes most matches feel like you're facing Final Bison with full meter in Alpha 3.

The AKI Engine -- and that's this thing that people say all of the time, and they don't realize it -- the AKI Engine would put developers out of business. But, with that said, we should be actively working towards some sort of game, and this is outside of what I'm talking about with AEW and as me in the executive role, but we should actively be working to have the happiest gamers you can possibly have. Whether that starts as a player feedback system, or an e-sports league, or some sort of body where there's a complete, transparent communication between those in games journalism and those in gaming.
