Just when I think I'm done hearing dumb poo poo about Mat Pat, he pulls another rabbit out of his hat. God, he's like DarkSydePhil-level incompetent, isn't he? This is like that time Phil did an unboxing video on Lightning Returns and by the end video somehow had not even opened the box.

It's available through Steam, too, if you don't want to go arcade hunting. https://store.steampowered.com/app/744060/Groove_Coaster/ You have to get the Undertale tracks as separate DLC, but.

99% sure the game has been in development since before Undertale was a hit. Toby was probably taking whatever projects looked nice and came his way. I know he also was supposed to make a track for Omori bcs I think the devs were friends? Anyway that game has been cast to the nether zone and who knows if it'll ever come out, so if it does maybe the situation will be similar

So that puts it in roughly the same development orbit as Undertale. Because yeah I remember seeing at stories about YIIK on and off through the years and it seemed to look pretty much the same every time I saw it so it was kind of like “Oh, that’s still not out yet, huh?”

This game looks exactly, and I mean EXACTLY like a game design document my friends and I made back in high school to make the worst and most frustrating game possible, down to "paper mario battle moves except all the attacks make you do a 30 second minigame" and "every line of dialogue is an outdated YTMND fad" If this game has an airship that you can't land anywhere I'm going to talk to a lawyer about plaigarism

I love how you can succeed at the banishing minigame, and then just wait five seconds while nothing happens, and then it clips back to the character for a few frames, and then focuses on the enemy and actually plays the animation for beating it

I wrote it somewhere else, but I encourage people to find a way to play or watch just like, two hours of YIIK so you can really get why it's bad. the creator's attempted to do the magical realism of Earthbound without understanding how to ground it and it's kind of fascinating
