I always liked the Battle of San Jacinto better as far as the revolution is concerned, if only for the fact that Santa Anna RAN AWAY during the battle and got caught wearing civilian clothes.

Like, before this session, that committee was Ag, Water and Rural Affairs, of which the latter 2 are the big issues. This session, they split off Water and Rural affairs and kept it with Charles Perry, and then gave the neutered Ag committee to Seliger. They also gave Seliger's seat on Finance to Perry. Perry notably supported Patrick's prop tax scheme last session, despite admitting on the Senate floor it wasn't in the best interest of his district. https://twitter.com/emmaplatoff/status/1087801192007286784 THe aide said something to the effect of "If Seliger doesn't think that the VERY IMPORTANT and not INTENTIONAL PUNISHMENT ASSIGNMENT Agriculture committee is beneath him I'm sure the people of his district would like to know" and Seliger said, essentially, "She can kiss my rear end" which SHOCKED the capitol. e: this 10:1 odds he gives it to a Democrat just to rub it in. zoux fucked around with this message at 21:07 on Jan 22, 2019 |

Proud Christian Mom posted:Dan's grip on reality is slipping A mixture of brain worms and panicking because Beto's coat-tails dragged a surprising number of Dem/DSA people to power? I can see him freaking out because he now sees proper state-level competition lead by scary young people many of whom are also non-white and/or socialists and doing his best to force his party to present a united front. He's just...really bad at it.

I mean, until this poo poo he seemed to be a kinder, gentler Dan. He was notably absent from pre-session stuff, doesn't have a list of 30 social conservative bills he wants passed, focused on meat and potatoes issues like tax and education policy, arm in arm with the Gov and Speaker. Guess he's getting bored.
