Found this, thought the new AI/BWM would enjoy it: I think reddit gives bad advice about cars and car purchases. A case against the 2 year old Honda. quote:What’s the most common advice we here: buy a 2-3 year old Honda or Toyota. While I have done this in that past, it’s a very narrow view that is not the best for everyone.

You know how many horsepowers I could make if I didn't have that commuting expense or have to restrain from doing stupid mods cause it's still gotta get me to work?

Those are weird examples since the price at the city center is nearly the same as 10 public transit stops away. Everyone should live walking distance to work, if they can. There are physical and environmental benefits in addition to playing yuppie urbanite!

I live in and we salt the earth in the winter. The only cars that rust here are Chevvies and Mazda3s. Every other car on the road with rust typically had damage that went down to the bare metal and/or perforated. Just buy a toyota/honda/korean passenger car, period. Used or Newish, drive them into the ground for the best value.

Say what you will but dodges keep loving going. Only reason I got rid of the piece of poo poo neon was because it kept eating brake cylinders and I didn't want to change the clutch. Style? Lol gently caress that. Rust? The whole frame was rust. Thing just kept ticking though. Co-worker has a 96 Plymouth neon that's still on the road. Dodge makes poo poo cars but they keep chugging out of spite. Till they catch on fire like the one my dad had.

We all know there's only one BFC approved car. Toyota Recalls 1993 Camry Due To Fact That Owners Really Should Have Bought Something New By Now quote:TOKYO—Saying it was simply time for drivers to move on, Toyota Motor Corp. issued a recall of its entire 1993 Camry model line Wednesday due to the fact that its owners really should have bought something new by now. “We understand that the 1993 Camry was tremendously dependable, but, honestly, there’s just no excuse for driving a 22-year-old car at this point,” said Toyota spokesman Haruki Kinoshita, adding that, with all the advances in automotive technology that have taken place, no one really had any business driving a vehicle for more than two decades. “We’re not saying you have to buy a new 2015 Camry or splurge on a flashy new hybrid, or even that your new car has to be a Toyota at all. But the bottom line is that you need to start fresh, however you choose to do so.” While Toyota is reportedly confining its recall to the 1993 Camry, it also issued a warning to owners of 1994 to 1998 models alerting them to the fact that they were really starting to push it.
