Watched a bit of Errol Morris' series Wormwood about a CIA guy involved in bio warfare who fell out of a hotel window in New York in the 50s. Sy Hersh is in it. Anyways Hersh found out back in the 70s that the CIA dosed the guy with LSD without his knowing before he took the plunge. This was part of the MKULTRA revelations. The story was that he threw himself out of the window while losing his mind on the drug. Turns out that was actually a CIA cover story. To be sure, the agency did drug him, but then arranged a doctor's visit in New York and a hotel, where they sent a death squad which proceeded to throw him out of the window. The film doesn't have enough on-the-record sourcing to go further, but reading between the lines it's pretty clear the CIA guy had become "dangerous" to the agency after learning about the extent of U.S. bio warfare in Korea, which was likely extensive and involved the use of insect bombs and weaponized pathogens including smallpox and plague. CIA guy seemed to be having doubts about the program. Interestingly, the Chinese and the North Koreans had done elaborate defensive measures during the war in terms of battlefield gear and medical infrastructure because they didn't doubt the U.S. was hitting them with bioweapons.

Tourists see this and doubt it, like they're seeing some fabrication, but it's very real and the North Koreans are telling the truth. There were perhaps hundreds of these attacks carried out on the North Korean civilian population by the U.S. military.

Horrible response by Sanders. Reminds me of 2003 when all the liberals who weren't evil enough to support the war still had to suck off the propaganda aspect of it by prefacing any criticism of the invasion with a long diatribe about how Saddam is a worse version of Hitler. Really takes the edge off the eventual piss-warm condemnation of military action. If you don't like Maduro then just say we shouldn't interfere in other countries and leave it at that.
