Salvador Larroca bashing the colourist for upcoming Uncanny X-Men art that was shown in a preview, making a point to say that the person was a woman.  quote:Translation: "Since my editor already showed [these pages] with a horrible coloring, I prefer showing them in black & white, which I prefer infinitely more. So yeah, it's in the air right now. I'm guessing it's not Aftershock or TKO, just because they're both *really* new, and pretty much everyone making these vague statements are talking about how these companies are screwing young/up-and-coming creators who don't have anywhere else to go, which doesn't really describe the people putting out books at those two companies.

Also frankly it's easier than ever to get independent comics off the ground, so comic making options are now infinitely broader and more appealing than begging marvel to let you ink one of their fifteen spider man reboots.

There are definitely ins for working at Marvel. Like being a wrestler, rapper, comedian or indie horror director. Marvel has started looking a lot to prose writers lately and has some really great finds there. For instance Saladin Ahmed, Eve Ewing, and Rainbow Rowell are all killing it on their books right now.

With the move to digital do more artists ink their own stuff now? Completely anecdotal, but the three closest issues of Marvel comics I had at hand were Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man 1, captain Marvel 1 and Conan 1, and none of them have an inker in the credits I could see, just Artist and Color Artist. Does the color artist do the inking now?

from what little i see artists and colorists actually talking process im guessing yeah more artists are doing inking by themselves cuz artists are sharing work that looks already inked and putting up process vids where they are inking, and when colorists are talking about work its on already inked work and the extra steps they need help with are flatting obviously not everyone is gonna be moving that way, but it seems like the "younger" artists are

You know he spent a bunch of that crowdfunded comic money doing that instead of actually doing a comic. Really starting to think a new parenting strategy needs to be "Hey, if you don't like something, even if it's a part of something you really like, don't focus on it," cause this behavior is not healthy.
