If you play the par of the course and still get only 1 or even no shinies several months in a row, you are doing something wrong, as much as it might not feel like it. There is a reason the "same people" always post about getting a bunch of shinies, and the same people post about not getting very many, and I have converted several people I know from group B to group A firsthand. If it is as you say it is regarding spawns being lower, you should try to find a better place to play if possible. Figure out where the other players are going and follow them.

Nah, complaining about on the internet is probably a pretty good indicator you're on the shittier side of random chance, and "just isn't something that occurs multiple times in a row" is trivially proven as false, you can even calculate the odds. One in a million odds happen once every million instances on average and all. That being said, the odds are bigger Niantic just has hosed something up. We know these things are both regional and time-based, and everyone in a region having lovely shiny luck just based on a coding fuckup wouldn't even make me wonder how Niantic hosed up, because they do, incessantly. Also yeah the spawns being lovely is true for the nearest 100 miles in all directions. The more committed local players point out you can take a train for ~120 miles and find the nearest spot with spawns that let you grab 100+ event mon per community day... but I ain't paying for a train ticket for shiny pokemon.

Repeating the same demonstrably incorrect thing over and over again doesn't make you right. I go where the event pokemon spawn in great numbers, some community days there are shinies, others there are none, and I'm not the only person in this thread who has posted about the same experience, let alone elsewhere. That's not me doing something wrong, that's something wrong with the game.

Some people consistently get 15 to 20 while others are lucky to get one in that three-hour window. We're in a small town so there's really only one good spot down our main street where there are about 5 pokestops and three gyms, so I could understand if everyone was getting low amounts compared to players in large towns but this is all happening locally

Sorry that I'm probably repeating myself but this game really needs a "Raid Interest Alert" system where you can like shoot up a flare or ping the map to let people know you're at / intend to go to a gym with a raid. I've been doing some essentially random raids for Kyogres and it's kind of frustrating when I wait ten minutes hoping for other randoms, and then leave, and sometimes come back ten minutes later and stumble on 11 participants. Yes I know there are Discord and FB groups coordinating actions but something in-game would be nice.

Honestly my discord group seems to be good enough that whatever in game raid coordination system niantic half develops would just detract from the experience or significantly slow the game down. I certainly understand the need for an in game communication system but I really don’t trust niantic to do it without loving up raids via disconnections or lag for like 3 months. Why they still have in game notifications that you can’t turn off is still a mystery to me.

I am at like 7 munchlaxs, 2 riolus, 1 ching, but 0 mantykes. The muchlaxes seem way more common than the others, possibly in part to people complaining about how they were specifically mentioned in the event description last month whereas the others were not mentioned by name.

DizzyBum posted:IMO there should be an option to start a raid immediately when creating a private group. Keep the public lobby as-is. That seems like a good compromise solution. Being able to start solo raids immediately would be very nice, and it'd curb some of the toxic behavior from the tryhards. The last few times I was out doing Kyogre/Groudon raids there was a group standing off to the side whining that there were some low levels in the 20 person raid. It took 30 seconds to demolish the boss instead of 20, oh no. Giving those sorts of people a "start raid now" button would get nasty real fast.

Some people. So a new guy joined our discord and lamented he was lvl 21 and had no good mon to raid with. We have a raid train set on Sunday, so I told him hey, friend me, we can do three special trades today, tomorrow, and Sunday. I will give you two machamps, two venusaurs, and at least 1, maybe 2 Tyranitar. That'll get you started good for raids. I ask where he lives, I live about two miles away, so I suggest we meet in the middle. Then he whines he doesn't have a car and has been walking everywhere. Keep in mind this is Phoenix, AZ, and the high is like 68? I offer a place closer to his house and he starts whining about not having his license yet. Okay, how the gently caress did he plan on going on the train without a loving car and no carpool? Bitch I am offering you three decent mon, fully evolved, and you can't meet me loving a half mile from your house?

What the gently caress? It's gorgeous right now in Arizona. Maybe he's one of those 500 lb people that can't walk? You tried to be nice, but that choosing beggar still isn't ok with a few minutes of walking. It's stupid easy to level up. Make friends, join a raid train, wild catch stuff when you're level 25-30 and be able to contribute to get more balls.

Today I got my first ever 0%er (Seedot) as well as 2 shiny Psyducks and a shiny Kyogre The first Psyduck was snagged by the Gotcha and I lost my poo poo when I was checking what mons I had hoovered up. I had no idea it was live and thought it wouldn't be out till AFTER the Brazil safari zone ended. The first one is low level with the usual bad stats (1/1/8) but that suits Psyduck well so whatever but the second is level 29 and is about 75iv which is pretty good for a wild shiny. All in all it was good day

It’s beyond stupid when there’s a 20 person raid ready to annihilate the boss complaining that a couple low levels are participating. I wasn’t exaggerating saying it meant a 30 second raid instead of 20. The tryhards around here seem particularly broke brained and antisocial. A few of them have a competition trying to gold badge every gym in the area and look down on anyone with less than 50+. They talk about driving an hour up into the mountains every day to fight over a particularly remote gym. They scream and get angry when they get a 5km egg at a Pokestop cause “2k and 10k have the only good shinies”. Fortunately probably the best player in the region is this super chill old Japanese dude who plays with a clipboard covered in phones. He’s funny, nice and an all around good dude. Goes out of his way to make sure everyone in town has a chance to get their EX raids completed even though he can “solo” them.
