They've been stewing before this about how they were getting politically ruined over this poo poo. Not like they were going to have a good explanation for why they were holding back the Democrat's bill when it was more popular than their's. The potential economic damage to themselves and their donors was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

But this is absolutely why they hate unions.

I guess there's a lot of negative propaganda about her. Many people know pretty much nothing about the pre-Obama years.

The main critiques of Pelosi were never that she was bad at her job. It's the opposite. When she wants to she can really push the ball forward on stuff, and the problem is that "when she wants to" is usually about some middling or bad thing instead of a really good thing that is also possible but she views as not centrist enough.

As leftists, we are disappointed in her because her talent could be used for so much more, but she squanders it at the altars of centrism and neoliberalism.

He waddled to a podium and whimpered about how that month of suffering meant nothing. Then, he came back, tears in his chubby cheeks and a fresh bruise on his lips, muttering about maybe there will be a state of emergency while Nancy audibly laughed in the background. That was Janurary 25th, 2019. Either he fucks the CR deal or doesn't.

Kinda sorta. They are unanimous with the implicit assumption that it will not be vetoed. Should Trump change his mind and bounce the bill back to them, there would be another vote to break the veto, and I would imagine that a few senators would change their mind.

Not really, just that nobody is motivated enough to stop it.

If any one senator decides they could scuttle the process for a traditional vote, but that means there'd be a record of how they voted

This is a bad take because polling on a ton of basic left issues far outpaces Pelosi's willingness to do anything. She's an obstructionist and she has power because she's the best at wrangling campaign funding in our laughable campaign finance system where you can literally just bribe politicians.

Unequivocally. Trump folded like a cheap suit. The only wrinkle is that its only 3 weeks but Trump has zero leverage now and it seems highly unlikely that Pelosi would hold firm on "no wall money" for a monthlong shutdown and then give up after this victory. They'll refuse to give him a wall, he'll cry about it, and the GOP will move past it because they can't do this again.
