They're very much against Maduro, and are a part of the regional coalition against him. Maduro's got to go, but deploying troops anywhere is an exceptionally dumb and shortsighted move so of course that's what we're doing, though 5,000 troops by themselves probably aren't going to be doing much.

One of the major reasons AOC won her district and Beto *almost* won the TX senate (compared to other democrats before him, and also counting that people aren't thrilled about Cruz) is the simple concept of "turning a non-voter into a voter". It's kinda funny that in 2018 after more than a hundred years of the modern political system that's a radical idea but welp here we are. Who's the farthest right Democrat who could potentially win the primary? Biden is my guess. But I think he's pretty unlikely to make it. Next might be Gillibrand or Booker (but I think Booker might have missed the boat or be racing to the dock as the last mooring line gets hauled up) Alternately, it's HRC. But I don't think she will actually run. Maybe trying a play at kingmaker will be enough for her this time around. Regardless, what Hot Karl Marx said unless people get their poo poo together.
