underage at the vape shop posted:annoyed you didnt make the poles line up It works for me, being able to see them all adds to the juxtaposition of the busy mess of poles and lines with the nice orderly well-trimmed lawns and rolling hills

I think it'd be a weaker shot if the poles lined up.

Or have a try at using the Defringe slider with a brush.

A local forest preserve has a winter sunrise photo workshop every spring. 2 years ago I had just gotten my T6i and it was the first time I tried much landscape. Unfortunately there was a heatwave so all the snow melted. I went back this year with upgraded gear and a bit more skill.

start a series on patches of trees imo bobmarleysghost posted:Why did you post this? Mostly just the texture and colors of the rust and the face of the concrete pylon against the blue background. Some symmetry too. I'm also more entertained with telephoto compression and the perspective than I should be at the moment. Really it's just some poo poo I took out of desperation while looking for birds on the beach to shoot on an ecologically devastated island.

It's better than the poo poo I post, man. I like that photo. You get the hint of a keyhole in the middle of the blocks, some cool lines of perspective from the top of the blocks fading with the bokeh, and some nice variety of blues from the water and the sky.

Yeah, maybe only starting to care enough to put money into it a year ago. I normally just shoot wildlife and anything else is pushing outside of what I would normally enjoy, but the hobby's cool and I learn from it so whatever. tbh I find landscape really hard for some reason so I'm just trying to shoot until I get some footing. Turns out just reading about landscape doesn't help you a ton with actually shooting it.
