Boo, the list I played twice and liked is too expensive now. EDIT: I guess it's still possible it just loses the Collision Detectors that I rather liked. I can work with that. Strobe fucked around with this message at 01:16 on Jan 29, 2019 |

Since I’m losing Darth on Whisper, I’m thinking she’s getting 5th Brother instead. That means Duchess gets less usefull. I’m actually thinking of swapping in Turr Phennir and have 2 interceptors. Maybe not optimal, but I love Interceptors.

Kids, don't make the same mistake I did, when flying against a large ship full of force crew; the ship regenerates one force, period, during end phase, not one force per force-granting upgrade card. Time for me to reread all the bits in the rulebook that cover stuff I don't normally use.

Uh.....I could swear you are wrong, and every card with the little arrow regens that force. Also, I think c-3p0 is gonna be the only crew in all three time periods.

bunnyofdoom posted:Uh.....I could swear you are wrong, and every card with the little arrow regens that force. Force goes into a common pool. The pool regens one per round in the end phase, no matter how many force effects you have and whether or not those force effects regenerate force. There are currently no effects that change the number of force tokens you regen at the end of the round. There are some force upgrades that let you regen at other times (like Maul), but right now, no matter how many you have, you only get one back per round at the end of the round. This is different from effects with Charges where each card is its own pool and regens separately.

A lot of my lists tend to consist of an ace with Inty escorts since I love Interceptors so much. Usually two, but this one can fit three! Even better. On the topic of game etiquette, does anyone get a little ticked when you win a game, and your opponent basically tells you they would have one if it wasn’t for a particular bad dice roll or a particular move? It is almost like they are saying that I didn’t play well. Sure there are deciding rolls/moves that wins or loses a game, but its kind of a lovely thing to say IMO. I usually just respond “Nah, I just outplayed you…” If I get beat, I try to always say how they played really well. lazerus06 fucked around with this message at 20:35 on Jan 29, 2019 |

I mean I usually will say a particularly pivotal roll decided things, win or lose. Like if I get my Interceptors behind a particularly important wounded ship and they blank out I'll be like "that's where things went wrong" or whatever. But usually there will have been a certain maneuver decision that decided things I'll notice.

My response depends on what they say. If they say "I would have won if it wasn't for this mistake I made", I'll talk about why it was a mistake and how they could have prevented it and help them learn from it and become a better player. If they say "I would have won if it wasn't for this roll of the dice" (and it wasn't some absurdly bad luck where I feel bad for them), I'll disagree and say "Nah, this is what your mistake was" and pick some random thing they intended to do. Not necessarily an actual mistake they made, but something that wasn't random.

I rarely comment on dice, only when really unlikely results come to the point of absurdity. I had a focus. I rolled two blanks on defense, and used Heroic to reroll them into two blanks. C'mon, that's funny. Whenever people try to console me by saying my dice were bad I tell them the problem was that I didn't roll the red ones as often as I needed to and had to roll the green ones more than I wanted to.

Depends. If the guy's a dick who just can't accept criticism, I just brush it off and move on. But most of the time, they're looking at the game tactically (short term, individual dice rolls) rather than strategically (long term, how they laid out rocks, approached, etc). In those circumstances, I like to talk about how if I ever put myself in a position where a single die roll cost me the game, then I'd already lost. I lost when I made the decisions that put me in the position where a single die roll cost me the game. It's totally fine to be sad if you just had bad luck (or happy if you had good luck) with every important roll of the dice, but...that's rare. It usually averages out. And if it averaged out...why did you really lose/win?

I usually only talk about dice when I win a close game. I might point out a particularly bad roll they had as a "well played, if that roll goes different you probably win," "you rolled six hits that turn and I only lost one shield, usually it would be far worse for me" or something similar. When I lose I usually try to pinpoint mistakes and also try to pick one or two things I did well that I wanted to focus on that game.

I'm kind of guilty of that, though i have enough of a track record of lovely dice luck that my regular opponents started commenting on it, and telling me I do alright, I just can't roll to save my life.

I always say my opponent flew well and ask them what they think I could have done better. I don't mention dice since if they were horrid my opponent will usually comment on them. I will bitch about any boneheaded stuff I have done.
