I'm originally from this general community and my dad still lives down there, so I'm well aware of how much of a dickhead DeGroot is. Overall this failing shouldn't have much impact on the state, if at all but the local community down there could be fairly devastated based on the debt they've taken on for this. The scale is immense and the amount of work done so far in terms of land acquisition and prep is pretty significant. e: haha, my dad is recorded as one of the local residents speaking to the board. I certainly can’t afford a tax hike like that; personally, I’d trust someone who spent their career making money than a first-term congressperson who just wants to spend it!

I certainly can’t afford a tax hike like that; personally, I’d trust someone who spent their career making money than a first-term congressperson who just wants to spend it! It's not a 70% hike on everyone JFC. People don't understand how taxes work. The more you make, the more percentage of your income (in each tax bracket) you pay. You are taxed basically nothing on the first <12k you earn, then some more on money you earn in the next bracket, and the percentage is higher for income in the next bracket up, etc until you hit the number that is your taxable income. The percentage of your income that this is equal to is known as your marginal tax. You are not taxed at 70% on every dollar you earn, you would be taxed at 70% on every dollar over a certain (really loving high) amount. For example, these were the numbers for 2018 10% $0-$9,525 10% of your taxable income 12% $9,525-$38,700 $952.50 + 12% of the amount over $9,525 22% $38,700-$82,500 $4,453.50 + 22% of the amount over $38,700 24% $82,500-$157,500 $14,089.50 + 24% of the amount over $82,500 32% $157,500-$200,000 $32,089.50 + 32% of the amount over $157,500 35% $200,000-$500,000 $45,689.50 + 35% of the amount over $200,000 37% Over $500,000 $150,689.50 + 37% of the amount over $500,000 orange juche fucked around with this message at 18:09 on Jan 30, 2019 |
