I was trying to find a video showing how great pyranees politely keep people from entering their territory when they've assessed the intruder, decided they aren't really a threat, but the dogs still feel they have a job to do. It involves leaning and requesting pets. You really can't go very fast or push past them. And if there is more than one pyr, they will cooperate with eachother to effectively box you in. It's very clever and polite. I can't find a video that illustrates that behavior, which I have experienced on multiple occasions when visiting friends or family that have pyrs, but I did find a clip about a great pyranees that has won his 3rd mayoral race. https://youtu.be/0ghcGzwHXcI "I don't know who would run against him, as he's done such great things with the community."

Stroop There It Is posted:Just confirming this is absolutely a thing my parents' Pyr does (don't have video though). This, however, is a video of another breed trait, which is her favorite method of requesting pets: Definitely. It's why I always laugh at the gif of the pyr punching his owner. They're all,"oh! You're so funny!" Smack.

My parents have had a lab for years, but just recently my sister adopted a french bulldog. She lives in her own house but my parents are the go-to dog sitters, so of course this scenario played out which was 100% predictable but still hilarious nonetheless: The lab is of course a loveable goof who has no idea how to assert himself so the bed is hers now! They are buddies though:

My old eskie does that little nervous dance for at least 20 seconds before going upstairs. She also refuses to use the middle or right side of the stairs, she has to have her left side in contact with the wall, whether going up or down. She also won't go down the stairs unless the bedroom door is closed and someone is walking beside her. We call it her religion.

Mu Zeta posted:I've been feeding this fluffy cat in my backyard for a month now. At first I thought it was a stray because it used to bolt away and jump over the fence if I opened the door to my backyard. But the past two days it's been cool with me standing very close to it. Still can't pet it though. But when I see it up close the cat looks way too clean to be living outdoors. I'm wondering if the owner just lets it hang out outside. Some days the cat will eat all the food and others it just takes a few bites and drinks a little water. Still, it's super fluffy. New update. It let me pet it yesterday! It started head butting me and then rubbing its body on me and whipping my face with its tail! It loves head butting my hand, walking away, then coming back and head butting me again. Then it lays down and shows me the fuzzy belly but I haven't mustered up the courage to rub the belly yet.
