Try Euryale if you've leveled her up (and you should, she's great)

I have her leveled up, but i don't see her living past a single set of attacks from Dantes, and I don't think I have her stun leveled up enough for the cooldown to be reduced. And the other problem is you can't predict when he'll use his NP because he can use a charge skill and then fire it off.

You have two NP charge removal skills with Euryale and Tamamo to take off the heat, and you can use the plugsuit stun if the charm doesn't go off to make sure Dantes has to wait instead of just charging and firing. I know this team can handle a good deal of punishment, I took it to the challenge quest and Euryale survived even the Proto-Homunculus duo, while Tamamo and Merlin got through the big Rider demon.

54 turns with Tamamo/Merlin/Archuria. So much NP spam. If I still got time to waste, I'm tempted to go through the gauntlet again with other team comps. Saberlot with my 2x MLB 2030s is dying to be used.

A Friend Support Waver can help with her surviving at least 1 full turn of attacks with his defense buff. If you can get Euryale's NP off quickly, it has an attack down debuff as well. Could still die, but it helps out a lot.

Cats are the best.
39 turns... but I'm a cheesy wimp who used dual merlin (and cu alter).

But the last summoning ticket from it got me Dantes, so clearly Merlin favors me and approves of my use of two of him.

Did a few runs of the CQ with a friend.

Run 1: Jalter/Merlin/Merlin. 36 turns, had a close call during Fergus but otherwise destroyed. Friend went Saber Shiki/Waver/tamamo and somehow finished in 73 turns in spite of using AOE.

Run 2: Drake/Merlin/Hans. This run failed miserably until I opened with beowulf to blow up Phantom and then plugged in Drake. 51 turns. Friend used Saber Alter into Jalter plus dual Merlins, finished in 54 turns.

Run 3: Lancelot/Merlin/Waver. 40 turns! Had a dicey moment with Amakusa and Jeanne, but Zerkerlot came up clutch with some big crits to lay Jeanne low and destroyed Dantes after.

Run 4: Saberlot/Tamamo/Waver. Saberlot died 38 turns in fighting Jeanne/Amakusa and in came Merlin to serve as backup DPS (I put him in expecting one of the supports to die...and neither did in spite of Tamamo going down to like 200 HP at one point because of Jeanne crits). Not only did he DPS Dantes like a boss, the NP stacking was obscene. Quadruple Garden of Avalon off a single Merlin and back to back Eightfold Blessings of Amaterasu :eyepop:

Finished in 57 turns! Somehow, DPS Merlin did the quest faster than Saber Shiki. When's the interlude coming for her?

Someone in the discord did it in 160+ turns with a stall-based team.

I did three Double Merlin runs with Jalter, Cuzilla, and Raikou. Both of the first two took over 40 turns, mostly due to bad luck in the case of Jalter (one of the Merlins bought it to the chimera) and me being conservative with Cuzilla. But Raikou...sheesh, without too much hassle she got through in 28 turns. AoE NPs that generate a ton of stars (80+ with the GoAs in effect) and of course have advantage of everything seems to be the key to clearing it quickly.

Also the Da Vinci interlude is super :smith:

THAT'S SPECTACULAR.
Alright, I'm digging this game. Even though this is essentially just characters lining up and taking pot-shots at each other, it's got more than enough fiddly bits and min-maxing crap to keep me engaged. I'm still only halfway through Italy in the story so it's going to be a minute before I'm dog-piling Merlin all over everything like a pro. Before I go into anything else, Jesus Christ this story is boring. I know it's a gatcha story, but gently caress me, I was only halfway through France before I started hammering the skip button. Anyways, this is who I've been rolling with and who has been left on the bench. Is there anyone I should be using/investing in instead? Again, I don't have any particular attachment to any of the characters so going for the waifus and husbandos doesn't really apply here.

The Team
- Carmilla: Fukken A+ chick right here. Sometimes she does feel a bit under-powered plinking away with quick cards until she very suddenly is not.
- Mash: what an absolute loving U N I T she is. I assume it's worthwhile stuffing her face with the all-purpose EXP cards, right? Because that what I've been doing and I haven't been regretting it.
- Ushiwakaru: I got a bunch of her on that Moon banner and maxed out her Phantasm to 5/5, so she wrecks face. Also, the standard operating procedure with her and Mash is to drop her Tengu Strat and Mash's snowflake thingy on turn one and then rank up the arts cards and unleash hell while being drat-near invulnerable to harm. I got these three on my first pull on the tutorial banner and really haven't used any one else. Still-
- Cu Chulainn: I only use him occasionally, but he's a loving madlad and I goddamned love getting his x4 attack combo because it sounds like I'm letting off a shotgun in a library.
- David: Solid enough and seems good for pumping up the arts.

I don't have an active Caster or a Berserker yet. Are any of the bench ones any good? Again, is there a good unit somewhere here that I've overlooked?

- Henry Jekyll and Hyde
- Jing Ke
- Phantom of the Opera
- Hassan of the Cursed Arm
- Mata Hari

Essence cards are fun and I can't wait to actually be able to apply some of these higher-tier ones to characters. I'm a little weary about enhancing them or this Limit Breakthrough thing though. What do I do with the monkey-gorillian Tenacity (and co) cards? Can someone give me the low-down on what I should do with doubles of high-starred Essence cards? Are the cards I have any good? I have:

- Devilish Bodhisattva (I got this one from a one-off free summon from the single ticket you get from grinding those green cubes. This feels like a luckshit)
- Moon Goddesss' Bath (x2)
- Golden Millennium Tree
- Moony Jewel (x4 what the hell do I do with these?)
- Angel's Song
- Divine Banquet
- Verdant Sound of Destruction
- Projection
- and then a bunch of three star stuff

Lastly just a couple of quick things:
- I assume I'm supposed to stockpile these Kou cards for when/if i get a 5-star, right?
- Bless daily missions and their loot
- The Fire Emblem: Heroes gatcha is like a nice shower after a day's work. The F:GO gatcha is like someone tossing you naked into the backyard and hosing you down
- I'm only getting sprayed down by the gatcha hose when I have a full 30 rainbow wonka chewing gum chunks, which is really what I should be doing to maximise value, right?
- Jesus loving Christ there's a lot of in-game items and currency and faffing about

Of your bench, Arash, Anderson, and Georgious are extremely good. Arash has an AoE NP that is as strong as the typical single target NP. The "downside" is that it kills him, but this is actually a benefit because it gets him out of the way and lets a stronger servant take his place. Georgious has the best taunt in the game. Hans Christian Anderson is known as "discount Waver" and is one of the best support servants in the game. You've got several other decent characters (a maxed Euryale will be very useful when you get to Camelot), but those are the ones I'd focus on now.

For Craft essences, once you get 5 of them together you can combine them all to limit break them for an increased effect. For general purposes the ones you are most interested in are the ones that give you a starting NP charge, which lets you use an NP much earlier. Ones that give a bonus to a certain type of card (like Verdant Sound of Destruction or Projection) are also good on servants with three of that type of card. Crit and star boosting cards are also good for quick based characters who like stars.

Fou cards: Pretty much. Feel free to feed them to Mash or Arash as well, those two in particular will still be great even when you have a bunch of 5 stars.
Dailies: Yep! You may want to grind the 40 AP exp missions if you need to grind someone up.
Gacha: You should be rolling on the FP gacha as much as you can for now (eventually it gets mostly pointless). Ignore the Story gacha, wait for a banner for someone cool. The Dantes banner that's up right now is someone cool.
Grindy: Yep
Merlin: Yep

I'd just spend fous on whomever you want, with maybe an increased emphasis on putting the attack ones into your main damage dealers and HP into anyone who is biting the dust earlier than you'd like. It's only +990 so it's not really the end of the world not having them in there for everyone and sitting on a supply for a hypothetical 5* you might (probably won't) ever get isn't going to be much benefit.

I also more or less agree with pure's highlights in your list of servants.

Definitely level Arash, Georgios, and Hans. Also, be sure to staple that Devlish Bod to Arash once you get him levelled up and can do his Strengthening Quest to unlock his third skill. There is literally no downside to him using that CE since you only ever will be firing his NP off once, and Devilish will turn it into a super nuke when it does go off.
