Is the Antarctic going to take longer to melt than the Arctic? If so, can we move some of the polar bears there?

Given that the antarctic is a landmass it will probably take a few billion years longer to melt, yes.

Had a nice visit from the police tonight. Looks like my fighty neighbours forgot the golden rule of not doing a crime in front of CCTV cameras (mine). Forgive the naive question but the EU seem much more prepared for No Deal than us, so I'm assuming they have documentation for their border guards and customs agents about movement of goods and people in the event of No Deal. There must have been some training, a powerpoint, even an email that says what checks are to be carried out. Instead of endlessly debating what might happen with exports, why hasn't a journalist used their journalism skills and find out what the French and Dutch ports plan to do? Even if nobody is officially allowed to give out details, I can't believe that the thousands and thousands of employees are all incorruptable.

quote:[...]14 MPs defied the Labour whip and refused to back a plan to delay Brexit, brought forward by ex-Labour minister Yvette Cooper, while seven backed the move to mandate Ms May to go back to Brussels and renegotiate her deal. lmao it's taken this long for may to figure out that parts of the labour party's for sale. Finally a workable strategy to get parliamentary brexit approval has been found

Is there consumer protection for buying votes?

Jesus if bribery is ok now what the gently caress have labour been doing chasing the xenophobic vote in those constituencies in the first place?

One could argue that MPs being able to demand concessions for their constituency in order to support a motion is the westminster system working exactly as designed.

I've just moved in with my stoner grandparents and chatting about Brexit. My grandad is racist but also blames everything on capitalism and the 'rich tossers ripping us off' so I'm conflicted.

One of the complains about working there is that yes the basic food that is there to keep you alive is transported in, but if you want any luxury item at all then it’s going to cost you a week’s wages - Scientists are going to be fairly pissed off if they find they couldn’t bring in that microscope because of your box of freddos.

Can you even fathom what it must be like to live and work somewhere where everybody on the entire continent is smart, cares about their job, and welcomes workers from around the globe? Where there’s no police or politician for a thousand miles? In one of the least polluted and least spoiled areas of the entire planet? I’d fuckin’ love to work in Antarctica.

Antarctica chat: you get to work and live in loving ANTARCTICA, who cares what the wages are?!? Streatham chat: Northampton North currently doesn’t have a CLP. The North and the South voted the split (splitters!) last year and the South had its AGM last week. The North was supposed to have its AGM the week before that but the PPC (arch Blairite Sally Keeble) and her cronies want to impose a delegate system on the CLP and its members disagree so regional has kicked it into the long grass, leaving 500+ members with no party.
