the actors i actually know of in the cast list are pretty good at doing dark, moody poo poo, and their presence indicates the tone is probably right in whatever film is being constructed

the thing is a bunch of em also have been in turdy movies too but i dunno the cast seems good, the director is good, the movie has a lot going for it that Dune 84 and the miniseries never got, already.

Oscar Isaacs practically is Duncan Idaho in the last jedi so its weird they've slotted him into the dad on his way out role, but the rest of that cast list is spectacular. If you showed me chalamets head shot with 15 year old princeling written underneath I would believe it.

there was a dune project in the work a couple of years ago with peter berg ostensibly attached to direct. the director of "battleship." that would have been a disaster.

It almost feels like it was a game of roulette and we just kept spinning the wheel until we got someone who we thought was capable. Then again, a lot of movies get made that way.

I think they're trying to have some sense of phenotypical resemblance between Leto, Jessica, and Paul this time around.

I just started listening to the Dune audio book, and my first impression of Dune are any scene without Duncan Idaho in, all the characters should be asking where Duncan Idaho is. Even though the only thing he did as far as I could tell was get drunk once.
