I was considering writing "and if the UK's Conservative Party repealed the Fixed-term Parliaments Act of 2011 and refused to ever call new elections, even as the rate of homelessness climbed above 1% under Brexit and people began to starve, I wouldn't call Jeremy Corbyn the legitimate leader of the United Kingdom, either" with regard to the Venezuela situation, if I ever had to justify an anti-coup position in writing somewhere important. I hedged on it because it seemed as outlandish to bring up as "and if Trump refused to leave the White House", but then I saw on Wikipediaquote:The Conservative Party manifesto at the 2017 general election proposed repealing the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011.[20] To do so would require a new Act of Parliament. If the duration of parliaments is to be limited, arrangements for this would need to be included in the new Act because the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011 repealed pre-existing legislation governing the duration of parliaments.[5]

the referendum was a lot like the trump/clinton election where Leave promised everything to everyone while Remain flailed around struggling to make a case for why remain is good and instead it was all just how leaving is bad and will gently caress the economy as soon as the leave vote wins. Which obviously didn't happen after Leave won resulting in tons of people who voted leave assuming the whole thing is overblown

But it will definitely 100% suck for the E.U. the U.K. will be fine, any worries are overblown but the E.U. will collapse without great Britain there to lead it along by the hand.

This is a tory austerity classic. 1 tory run local authority has gone bankrupt as a result of austerity and there are tons that are close so obviously moving funding to them is incredibly loving stupid quote:Responsibility for sexual health was taken away from NHS England and handed to councils in 2013, which means that since then STI testing and most contraceptive services have been overseen by local authorities. https://twitter.com/HuffPostUK/status/1092687532607852544

I mean, the safest bet would probably be that the tories default to "austerity, but criminally incompetent and incompetently criminal," but I sure as hell wouldn't bet my life savings on it.
