I'm okay with those. Everyone loves Mandalorians and Bounty hunters. It's making the lack of a Scum faction really glaring though. Has FFG ever touched the WEG RPG or Decipher CCG stuff, or is that off-limits? They both did a ton of legwork making characters and vehicles when there wasn't much Star Wars around.

By releasing Bossk FFG can secretly start building towards a Scum and Villainy faction for Legion just like they did for X-Wing while still supporting the Imperials in the meantime.

Would be interesting if Scum had no commanders and instead used Operatives from other factions. Would really highlight their lack of organisational command.

Both make a lot of sense to me, I'd make most of the Ghost crew into operatives. Hera is probably the exception but even then she's fairly low level so I dunno.

To be fair they are usually alternating character-troops-character-troops so far? Realistically you would expect duplicate squads so those boxes will see more repeat use than any character, and the characters generally alter how other units play. Just because you have 6 characters to choose from doesn't mean you have more of them on the table. That said, it occurred to me earlier that if they release Hera as a character, she should probably have rules to fit more of her team in the same list somehow. I can see most of the Rebels cast being operatives. Or maybe do it as a scenario pitting them against waves of Stormtroopers.

I don't just mean troops, I mean specifically Corps options. Currently we're required to take 3 of the most boring units in the game, and it sucks.

I would love to see regular army Mudtroopers as seen in Solo as a new core option for Imps. Even if they were just cheaper/worse stormies stats wise they are cool looking.

If I'm not mistaken, each side has 2 Choices for core, 2 for support, 2 for operative, 2 special forces 3 commanders (4 if you count the generics), and one heavy. I thing Jeebus is on the right track, a couple more core options per faction would help make things feel a little less homogenous. Empire could still intruduce shore and mud troopers as alternate core. Rebs you've got Hoth Troopers and uh...

Ordered a few more 3d printed things including a rad landing tower that I'm going to put the Hasbro U-wing (scale is pretty spot on) I ordered on. I should probably just get a 3d printer.

For actual printing of minis, you're going to want an Anycubic Photon, or any other resin printer (which get expensive fast). But! For random parts, terrain, vehicle bits, the Monoprice mini is perfect, and the Monoprice Delta should have even better quality of prints, though the build volume is smaller, I think.

HebrewMagic posted:What other lines are y'all using for terrain? That U Wing looks very good and it's got me inspired to create. For buildings both Corvus and Imperial Terrain are good, and both have .STL and physical print options. For landed/crashed starships there's a lot of options. You're going to want to stick to ~1:48 and I find the Legion facebook group is a good sounding board from people who's experimented. Here's my rebel hangar (other three ships have since gotten the same Nuln Oil treatment): These all look relatively nicely scaled to eachother, and to the figs. The U-Wing is the Nerf/Hasbro, the X-Wing is the Revell Snap-build Lukes, and the A-Wings are Micromachines Action Fleet. Jyn/Pathfinders supposedly drop this week. Pathfinders full spoiler: It's Pao or Bistan as unique heavy attachments. Interestingly Pao becomes the unit leader as well. Also means there's diminishing returns on running more than 2, since you can't slot anything into your heavy slot until if and when they come up with unit-agnostic heavy options like they did with personnel. Seems like the obvious use is to give them Overwatch and drop them on objectives during deployment, and just dig in like ticks.
