Long story short, a bill is currently making its way through congress which will force much of US uranium purchases to go through US companies, and theres only two major worldwide suppliers, Kazatomprom in Kazakstan and Cameco in Canada. The world's richest uranium mine is owned by Cameco and is currently shut down because of lack of purchasers. (if winds start blowing towards nuclear, theres a lot of money to be made with smart investments)
