The rules for barricades disagree, per CA 2018:

"When a model targets an enemy INFANTRY unit that has all of its models within 1" of a barricade, the target unit receives the benefit of cover if the shooting model is closer to the barricade than it is to the target and the target is at least partially obscured from the point of view of the shooting model.

So if you're within 1" of a barricade but the shooter is flanking you from the sides or behind so that they are closer to you than to the barricade, you would be in full view of the shooter, so the target wouldn't get cover which makes sense.

Ah, I missed the CA2018 wording. Depending on the models that may come into play then. Like I posted, I find it best to err in favor of the other player if there’s a question.

Fair enough, I would definitely err to the other player if they have a serious issue with it but at losing only 1/4" in height modeling the unit on foot, you're pretty much splitting hairs at that point.

It's amazing how drastic the game changes based on the terrain. I wish GW would have a recommended configuration for terrain.

No LoS blocking terrain gets even worse when the paltry woods or ruins gets negated by imperial Fists ignore cover saves. Literally just turns into old timey stand in a open field and shoot each other like “gentlemen”

So who thinks they'll unveil Abaddon tonight at the LVO seminar?

First killteam game with new deathwatch was against a 12 man dark eldar team with multiple tankbuster weapons. Tabled round 3 because most of my to hit rolls against those high ap specialists were 1s. :(

Still had fun though.

They’ve been hinting at it very strongly so it would be a surprise if they didn’t. That and the new unbloat drone.

This would rule. I would also go in big for a Primaris Gubbins sprue with stuff like a bolt rifle that doesn't have a hand attached.

I think you meant to say Primaris Lieutenant Telion, my good fellow.

I was going to say it would be very unusual for them to put a special character in the box, but they already gave a name to the black Legion sorcerer floaty dude wielding the icon of sin so I guess it's not out of the question. all I know is I'm going to be scooping up a bunch of primaris on the cheap as the chaos Fanboys are going to be all over this box

The armour is Reiver armour with a new helmet, so a new Reiver variant with primaris-ised Telion at the head? I'm down. Is that a new Librarian as well?

Every sculpt in the box is new. Highlights include a new Primaris Librarian, Primaris(?) Eliminators that look like snipers, what looks like Primaris Lieutenant Telion. Also new Black Legion marines, a new nastier Obliterator in plastic, Abbadon (of course), and a new daemon engine the Venomcrawler.

I really did not expect them to give us new Primaris at the same time they released the Black Legion, but I'm happy to be wrong. It makes a lot of sense to load that box up with sweet sweet goodness though. The best part about this announcement is that they have only shown a couple of Marine units which means there is more to show soon. Getting a character in a different armor style is promising to loosening up the castle that it's easy to fall in to when the list is missing strong forward deployment. Here's hoping for some honest to the Throne heavy weapons options that don't self immolate, and another fast attack option.

I figure "About Deathwatch Marines size or slightly bigger because swollen with Chaos power" is a good ballpark for CSM? I was worried they'd jump straight to Chaos Primaris and skip over updating the basic Chaos Space Marines kit, though not super worried once the Blackstone Fortress previews showed off the new CSMs in there.

Primaris are only supposed to be a little bigger than normal marines. The new CSM are bigger because they've improved their model making techniques and they're moving towards a new truer scale for models where they're a little smaller than primaris but taller than normal humans.

Right, it's just not a warp juice thing. If they made new smolmarines then they'd also be the same height, it's just that their new loyal marines are primaris.
