Escape from Tatooine - Part 2 is online - without any censorship issues this time.

This installment covers Rey's acquisition of a new droid and FN's efforts to steal a fighter jet. As usual, the goal was to alter the narrative as much as possible using the available materials. Editing was done on mute, with music selected and applied after the fact. Tracks do not intentionally synchronize.

Previous installments:

Prologue rough draft/'storyboard'
Assault on Tatooine

SMG links to the tracks on the YT video description. I had the exact same thought!

Another thing I really liked about Escape from Tatooine Pt. 2 was the crosscutting of the two fights - I didn't realize that both had a subtheme of the protagonist literally being constrained and held back. Honestly it matches up so well I wonder if that may have been closer to the original plan before reshoots or whatever happened. It actually makes good use of the jerkier pans and cuts to make things a bit more disorienting and claustrophobic in the fighter bay - this actually feels more abrams than abrams did in my honest opinion.

These are canon facts of the star war universe

Coruscant was never renamed. It’s just the megacity that sprawls across the chief planet in the Hosnian system.

This owns. Thank you for making something cool.

e: Adding those flashback cuts of the Big Laser does so much to develop Finn and add urgency to the sequence.

I would say no, TFA has more and better Kylo Ren action and more importantly interaction with other characters than Rey, which is a plus. TLJ just has him Force-Skyping with Rey, he seems underutilized despite going topless. TFA has this weird scene with the Raid guys, TLJ has the lovely opening. TFA has a lot of Maz Katana on her lovely bar planet, TLJ has the prolonged pointless journey to the casino planet where nothing is achieved and no one learns anything. I'd put the duel at the end of TFA slightly above the throne room duel just because the latter seems like they wanted to say "THIS TIME, the red guys actually do something!" but there's also a bunch of continuity errors and weird editing.

It seems as if TFA is slightly ahead but i find it's really tough to decide which one is actually worse.

Unnecessary multiplication of entities. We might as well conclude that ESB Yoda and RotJ Yoda are two different guys because only one is dying and bedridden.

That's really dumb. Yoda in ESB and Yoda in RotJ are clearly depicted to be the same entity. (Which is the same Yoda from the whole PT). At no point whatsoever are Coruscant and Hosnian Prime shown or even implied to be the same planet.

It's ultimately an arbitrary decision by the mods whether they choose to enforce the rules from the last go round of this discussion. That said I feel they would probably warn people to knock it off first. Thus, my conclusion is that any who desire to do so should 'go hog wild' for now

Nah, it's a fine script. Not necessarily clever in terms of dialogue, but it's a good story that seeks to mirror the Empire Strikes Back not through parallelism, but by actually trying to create the same unexpected shift to the audience's expectations as Empire. It's a script that doesn't fear allowing its cast to change or even be humbled. It's all made by the better by not being as recursive as previous films, getting back to the series's roots of using other films to influence it, not concerning itself with being part of a franchise, and being visually striking.
