after like 2 years my wasd doubleshot pbt mx clear baord is giving me a consistently smooth buttery fingerfeel with a satisfying but not too loud clickity clack and it still looks brand new when i clean the goop off

Here is my work keyboard where I get all my real work done  Kailh Copper switches (similar to Cherry Browns but actuate after a shorter distance) with some PBT keycaps from aliexpress, and some tablet stands for the tenting. I use a layout based on this one but qwerty rather than colemak: https://configure.ergodox-ez.com/layouts/Malb/latest/0

I love my dumb keyboard. If I want to select up to the end of the word in VSCode I would do Shift+Alt+Right but on this keyboard all I have to press is L3+f+s+; so I’m not even leaving the home row C++11 lambdas? I can type [=](){} as easy as R2+s,r,d L2+f+o,R2 R2+j+s,d

Cherry MX Browns, I think the browns were actually designed for Kinesis originally? If you email their support, Kinesis will sell you the plastic frames and flex pcbs to solder your own bowls, it saves on desoldering the switches off the existing ones.
