Didn't Rasmussen get caught altering their methodology very close to an election once when it became clear they were the only ones that weren't going to be correct?

A Jewish lady friend of mine suggested that this entire outrage towards Rep. Omar is an attempt by Republicans, as well as the patriarchy in general (e.g. powerful men such as Schumer) to curb the growth of her popularity and influence. She said they have been trying this with AOC too, but nothing has been sticking there, but a Muslim making remarks that can be intentionally misconstrued as anti-semitic was something they could, and did, pounce on.

The Likud lobby has been trying to destroy both Omar and Talib since the second they won. They are an existential threat.

It’s worth noting that the same people already went after AOC for comparatively tamer and much more defensible comments and she also backed down under pressure. They’re gonna keep doing it so long as it works.

This is definitely part of it, but liberal Jewish rag, The Forward, has already put out two op-eds attacking Omar.

Lawmakers say they have reached an ‘agreement in principle’ to avoid government shutdown I'm hoping this doesn't include any money for the wall, but who knows atm. quote:At the beginning of talks, lawmakers looked for ways to avoid conflict over Trump’s demand that $5.7 billion in taxpayer money be used to build parts of a wall along the border with Mexico. Lawmakers were discussing sums between $1.3 billion and $2 billion, far short of Trump’s initial demands.

I find something deeply uncomfortable about someone demanding that a Native American representative be removed from office after one month because said Native American didn’t do enough in that person’s opinion to defend her race. But what do I know.

Yep. 100% with Rep. Omar, but this whole day feels like pushback for Rep. Steve King, et. al. and a Republican hardon to gain traction from the VA Democrat debacle. All words must be minced in politics (and SA USPOL), Jake. Reality aside, gently caress the Democratic leadership for their lobby-sucking response, and gently caress big money in politics. As important as the green revolution is, it might be necessary to first remove all non-public finance from all politics everywhere forever.

For the record I feel that unless those 55 miles of structures are all at ports of entry (which they very well might be since that’s a real small amount) I don’t support giving Trump even that and I hope he doesn’t sign it to save the Dems from themselves. But if they’re building new fences at ports and road crossings or whatever than fine since that’s what they’ve been offering since the start.

My issue is that she's saying Omar made anti-Semitic comments, which she did not. I didn't mean to conflate that so closely with her not commenting on Trump, that was my mistake. And I'm not demanding that she be removed from office, just hoping we can find someone here to primary her from the left.
