That's a terrible comparison because it's something that is inherently identifiable in a characters visual design. Look man, my literal #1 most anticipated game on the planet very openly stars a lesbian. There is nothing about any of these dumb characters in Apex Legends that should make anyone want to know anything about them. They run around and shoot poo poo in a multiplayer game and nothing else. Announcing characters are gay is just a way to drum up some free press and bait chuds into getting mad for even more free press. The characters in Apex actually have a shitload of personality, more than most Overwatch characters, and a substantial portion of the people who play games care a great deal about that. You're so close to getting it

Idk the character work in Apex is pretty good. Not as good as Team Fortress 2, but definitely a lot more interesting than Overwatch. I'd read a comic or watch a short or something if the grapplebot is in it.
