There was also some stuff about Zak that erroneously lumped him in with GamerGate. (Caveat; we all know Zak was a one man GamerGate before GamerGate ever happened, but he didn't touch actual hashtag GamerGate at all) Since Dawkins was one of the writers on V5 he took exception to this and began making appearances around the social media circles. He was engaging the topic on Twitter and dropped DiceDog's real name. One of the people in that specific twitter chain, and the GamerGater that Olivia is referring to, was TheQuartering a.k.a. the guy who claimed to be punched by an SJW at GenCon. This is a thread that exists to discuss (among other things) industry figures such as Matt McFarland and their relationships with the rest of the trad games industry and community such as RPG.net. Given that specific context, people are interested in talking about RPG.net's moderation decisions because it does pertain to the topic of TG As An Industry. This isn't the "forum moderation policies" thread or the "sex offenders in position of power" thread. Nobody here gives two shits about aatrek or Lowtax's moderation decisions in the context of what we're actually talking about, just like nobody gives two shits about Harvey Weinstein in the context of what we're talking about, because he's not actually relevant, he happens to also be a sex offender in a position of power, but not one that's tabletop games related. like if you want to make a thread about moderation policies then go ahead I guess? plenty of space in QCS
