I think I'd prefer the increased resolution and framerate of the PS4 version, though. I have no idea why Nintendo makes such neat consoles that are so chronically underpowered compared to the competition.

The stuff with Morcant being the Seer (sort of) and Serenica dying for no good reason and randomly becoming a time elemental or whatever was pretty dumb but everything else in the world seemed well thought out.

I think the chosen one dealie being emphasized works real well in the context of having the hero get the super sword of light and then get hosed up because he’s about thirty levels too low to deal with the ambush, one of his party members died to keep the rest of the crew alive, and the world is varying degrees of hosed afterwards.

It hit nostalgia hard when I played it since the last game I had played was 8 (so many years ago). The music is perfect, and the art is 100% DQ. There is a grind, and it has optional bosses.

Finally beat 6 today. While it wasn't nearly as good as 3, 4, or 5, it was pretty enjoyable throughout. I'd say the biggest issue is that if I wasn't using a guide I'd have been wandering around pointlessly looking for what I'm supposed to do next for the latter half of the game.

I'm playing the mobile version at the moment myself. I was stuck for quite a while on Murdaw, until I grinded a bunch of levels. And yeah, there's a lot to see and do, with not much handholding. Although I appreciate the clues on where to go from party chat and Madame Luca. I don't think the characters are all that interesting, but Ashlynn's party chat responses when I talk to a dog or cat are pretty  .For now I'm working on the following setup: Carver (melee heavy hitter, Gladiator), Hero (agile utility, Ranger -> Hero), and two sages (Nevan, Ashlynn). Milly is going to be the Luminary but I think I've only ever used her in one boss fight since unlocking classes so far.
