At a solo tournament, all the tables are the same each round. In teams, there are generally different terrain levels and the teams pick matchups and tables to fit the format.

I e-mailed them immediately, even going so far as to screenshot it. Apparently some assholes put the item in the cart and never paid, so their solution was to explain in a newsletter that you should just buy the poo poo immediately and worry about the details later. Give that my son is due on 3/1 I suspect I'll have other priorities that day, so my goal is going to be to get all the narrative games. My wife, who is a Saint, has already said I can go so long as I arrange someone to help her that week.

There were Ork hybrids in the very old fluff (rogue trader era), and there was a model in the Freebooterz range which I've had sitting around to paint for 25-odd years. The background was quite tragic really - rt-era Orks didn't breed till the end of their lifecycle, so the cult tended to die out before it could really get started, and the stealth failed completely because other Orks could easily tell the cult didn't smell right. I have seen more recent converted re-imaginings of the Green Brood, and they look fantastic.

You would be entirely justified in making a GSC army of all races. They obviously wouldn't have special rules from those races, but hey. Nobody could give you poo poo for it.

I’m not sure about Seattle, but the DMV is full of Gov, which means lots of military or prior service goons, who like playing war games I suppose.

For tourney terrain we make standard “types” of terrain, they have the same dimensions and stuff. Mike and a couple others spend hours the night before setting it up specifically to be even, however not every table is exactly the same.

Honestly if I don't get SuperNOVA it's not a big deal. I was more pissed at the experience of having something in my cart and not realizing you had to immediately buy it or it would get poached. Since some folks are on their 10th SuperNOVA or whatever I might see if someone wants to sell me their bag and foam.

Yes. There are specialist detachments which are already being used in tournaments. Things like the Servitor Maniple add some interesting options.

There are oblique references to the possibility of a Tau GSC getting started in one of the early Ciaphas Cain books. Kroot also apparently can smell out cultists and go nuts about them though.

Don't GSC cults take hundreds or even a thousand years to fully develop?
Doesn't seem like the Tau have been around anywhere long enough to be fully infiltrated yet.

I would also still appreciate some danger.

They're most effective if they have hundreds of years to infect, but sometimes it's just a handful of Stealers and Hybrids who got lucky and infiltrated the most powerful families or organizations.

Pretty sure it just takes a year or two for a cult to fully develop.

But the latest GSC codex does talk about that they have managed to infiltrate other races but is a number of issues that makes them less than perfect choices than humans:

The 7th ed codex implied it has already happened.

quote:

THE GREATER GOOD CORRUPTED
A lone Genestealer from Hive Fleet Gorgon reaches the Tau sept world of Ksi’m’yen. The creature is captured by the planet’s Earth caste scientists and subjected to extensive analysis, resulting in a lowly worker being implanted with a measure of germ-seed. The grotesque anatomies that spring up in the laboratories are seen as curios rather than blasphemous by the ever-inquisitive Earth caste, for the Tau approach to alien life forms is founded on the concept of acceptance and tolerance. When the research divisions experience a bloody schism twenty years later, the Fire caste are called in, only to find many subterranean research facilities overrun. Ksi’m’yen is consumed by war, and quarantined for almost ten years before the eccentric Ethereal Aun’ghol declares it productive and clean.
