sim farm was one of the best sim games back then. I play farming simulator 17 a lot but it's just not the same. Sim farm understood nobody wants to drive back and forth on a digital field for 2 hours to harvest wheat, then drive across th e map to sell it, etc. Sim farm made farming seem easy, just build your irrigation ditches right and grow a food. Fun, not mind-numbing.

I saved every single dollar I could and bought the return sceptre from the dude in the sewers, no cooldown unlimited charges instant teleport to your front door from anywhere. Really cuts down on travel time. And yeah, I don't mess around with mods. Edit: if there were no horses last time you played then there was definitely no return sceptre

The Settlers II is another game that covers that “place the farm to get maximum result” itch. Have a nice bit of even terrain? Chopped down all the trees? Removed all the rock? No neighboring buildings? Placed a transportation path at a 45 degree angle? Yes? AWW YEAH, at least 6 fields of grain coming up. GOG has a more modern remake. Buy it.

Don't buy a Harvest Moon game. They lost the license to some poo poo developer, so anything with HM in the name is a crap knockoff. The real HM people make farming games under the name Story of Seasons, I think?
