The AI in Wargroove is kinda dumb but that's kinda OK because it makes me feel smart I still like it and I don't think we're getting any new Advance Wars games anytime soon sooo if you dig that stuff it's worth checking out. 20 bux and it's on the Switch for great handheld playin'

Relax Or DIE posted:Cold take here but I just started Spiderman and moving around in the game is a blast. There's probably a good effortpost about how movement in action games overall maybe kinda sucks but it's too much to unpack for a phone post. Insomniac really nailed it with that game, it's awesome how so many things are done with only a few buttons and you can have fun with all the tools and combinations they give you. The swinging isn't exactly the same kind of physics as Spiderman 2 but I've had way more fun with how this game does it, especially how context sensitive it is to collisions--you just keep going and running along buildings.

The payout to devs on the EG platform seems friendlier.

I hope Epic Games beats the poo poo out of Steam.

My dumb man hands are struggling with the Switch’s tiny buttons for little babies, do you just get used to it or is there an official controller for fully-grown adults that I should buy Also I’m only a couple hours in but Breath of the Wild might be my favourite Nintendo game ever??

if anything it looks like valve is missing out on bilking rubes out of an additional transaction fee to nail googly eyes to their steam profile page so i'm sure they'll rectify the situation if possible

i hoped epic games would be a good alternative to steam but literally the monetization model one of their staff mentioned is just as bad as steam is for smaller devs, so also metro exodus was, actually kind of lovely, not because it made pc gamers mad or something but because the epic games client still isn't available in some regions so for some people the game literally just, became unavailable to buy

I'd recommend the joycon battery grips so you can hold them without having to reset your hands though. Just rest your whole thumb and get used to using the sides of it

seems to me that competitions between corporations just incentivize squeezing the consumer in newer and more fascinating ways to keep the flow of money from them constant when everyone's vying for the same wallet but i'm not an economic scientist

The dream scenario, where competition from Epic forces Valve to make positive changes that benefit both the developers and consumers, only works if they are challenged in a way that promotes that sort of change. Right now if Valve wants to meet Epic head on they should... buy up exclusivity deals? Doesn't seem like a positive change for the industry. A greater cut to the devs is good, but there isn't really any proof yet that that actually means more money in their pockets after the exclusivity deals dry up.

either way gamers get more pissed at titties being censored than digital game platforms treating devs and consumers like poo poo so the medium as a whole is hosed. imagine thinking anita sarkeesian is the death of your hobby and not Big Steam and Big DLC
