Is the new government actually working out well so far? opposition's still melting down in denial over their loss, which is p funny. government is kinda failing to deliver on its programme, partly because they underestimated how hosed things were going to be, partly because it takes a lot of time to set up new institutions/undertake reviews/pass legislation (so it's too early to tell), partly because they're not willing to make big changes for the usual centre-left reasons. they're also doing something that imo could be the next stage in 21st century social democracy, by taking a "wellbeing" approach to govt spending and policy development. it's interesting because it's considers benefits beyond $ but doesn't actually challenge the structure of the economy. there's a reeferendum at next year's election too 😌
