Really is incredible to me that Fairfax is accused by two different women of forcible rape (claims that pre-date his election), Virginia Democrats are refusing to let the women testify, and life is just moving on. I know that politics has really taken a nasty turn, but I still can't wrap my head around how this is happening. It also feels like the refusal to let the women testify is not being very well covered in the media (compared to the initial feeding frenzy).

Virginia campaign finance laws are written in a way that candidates can't fundraise while the gov is in session. So there is only a few weeks to a month where we can fund candidates. If that candidate doesnt bend the knee to the establishment, then they need a serious fundraising ground game.

Or the LA teacher strike VA teachers can't do that by law, which means the Teachers Union is effectively toothless. Strikes are super important for our education system because who better to know the needs of students than loving teachers?! - Lee wants to hear from Justin Fairfax's accusers, not out of craven political gamesmanship, but because he is a survivor of rape and very open about it. As a fellow survivor that is huge for me and alone gets him my vote. To have a man break with his entire party just because it is the right thing to do...is so important.
