Some things are locked behind the event pass and can't be bought without it. If you don't want any of these (golden chromas), the event pass is still fun if you like to just get a bunch of stuff and don't care what exactly you get. If you want some specific thing that can be bought directly, there's no point in getting the pass. If you hate the loot / gambling system, definitely don't get the pass.

I got a chest out of one of those envelopes. It had Pool Party Gangplank in. I'm ehh about the passes, it's a F2P game so it doesn't annoy me like it would in some other games. I'd probably buy one if it was for an event with actual cool skins like Star Guardian.

Is there any rhyme or reason to how stunned characters can still do stuff sometimes? I guess I can understand stuff like Sion's axe charge being uninterruptible but I just had a game where Singed would flip me even though it blatantly said "STUNNED!" over his head.

And Sion’s Q is interruptible - IIRC, the bit where he’s winding up is a channel, so anything that breaks channels (stuns, silences, Kass Q) still stop the skill from going off.

If you queue up your ability at the right time the animation and ability itself goes through and you shave off some of the time you would've spent doing nothing. It's pretty important for trading on a bunch of champions especially toplaners who can go CC for CC like Singed and Renekton.

It used to be really inconsistent and mostly applied to edge cases like Alistar's combo but its been kinda adopted as a mechanic and made more reliable.

Yeah usually it's predicting the CC and starting your escape ability at the right time so the animation is rolling when the CC actually lands. You see it a lot with Tristana and Ezreal players using rocket jump and arcane shift to move out of attack range even if a stun landing is inevitable.

Any ability that translates the character's position like a dash, blink, or displacement is called a "movement block," and the most recent movement block overrides the last one. If Thresh hits his Q before Tristana's W movement block is executed, she'll jump away harmlessly; if it hits after Tristana's movement block is executed, the hook will work like normal.

It's a shame they aren't doing particle updates for cheap skins on VGUs going forwards; I think they only caved this time because they hadn't explained the policy publicly much, and the outcry was big. I expect they might have to violate their policy on Morde, too, just because he's got so many loving flea market skins that'll look weird with his basic skin's particles, assuming they keep similar color schemes.

Not a huge fan of the buttwings on morgana, but at least she has feet now and they accomplished their goal of easier cheesecake cosplay morgana costumes that can move through doors without getting stuck. Old classic kayle looks better then new classic kayle, but the transforms and skins mostly all look better then the old skins.

I saw one of the animation guys on Twitter answer that they have to do weird animation things to make certain motions visible from the game perspective. Like Aatrox looks loving hilarious during some of his animations because he stretches up to be taller than towers. Basically these models are not designed to be seen from any angle other than top down.
