Next time no soft eggs - the chicken, avocado, croutons and crisped chicken skin were plenty :)

e: oh yeah and bacon

Isn't the whole point of a cobb salad the eggs and blue cheese?

No idea. Wife got the recipe from Bon Appetit, which doesn't have the blue cheese. If we take out the eggs I'll change the name I suppose.

Yup. Also scalloped potatoes.

And this less than photogenic apple crisp. I wasn't paying attention and over-mixed the topping so it isn't as chunky as I like.

I love cilantro and eat it a load of it, but there was ONE time when I smelled a bunch of it and all I could think of was soap. It was like my brain had a little misfire or something.

Cilantro used to taste like soap to me and then I just...got over it. I think I had it on a curry from a market on Whiteladies Road and it just changed in my brain. I now have to strongarm the staff at our burrito place to get them to put enough on.

Food is weird, eating food is weird. Last year all I wanted to eat was burgers, now all I want is fish. I don't loving know.

I'm on a quesadilla kick right now.

Mushroom, cheese, spring onion, and birds eye chilli for this one, with just a bit of side salad garnish and hot sauce.

It tastes a lot better than you would think.

I mean, keeping it real, sweet corn is a major staple food that most people like, and cream of chicken has all the stuff we like on fried chicken, minus the stuff you get when that drug addled teenager improperly prepares your food and/or spits in it or rubs his dick on it.

edit: I've actually worked in the fast food industry. Junkies do that stuff.

I wish I knew.

I think someone had a meltdown.

edit: I think Ruffles seem to work as a decent alternative to french fries or other fried potatoes as a side dish for fried eggs or stuff like hot dogs and/or hamburgers. I'm super lazy when it comes to cooking, sometimes even going so far as to dump excess crisco from the pan onto my eggs or meats (which tend to reside on disposable plates), to make cleanup easier. And let's not kid ourselves; minced beef DOES taste better with more fat. And soy sauce.

I may be a bit of a freak, but I love the taste of soy sauce and fat on my food.

Sure! I was lazyposting so I didn't want to get up and check the actual recipe name.

Raw and Roasted Kale with Pistachios and Pecorino from Dining In by Alison Roman, an excellent book.

Dressing is 1/2 cup grated pecorino, lemon, white wine vinegar, garlic, and olive oil. Massaging the dressing into the kale with your hands really transforms the texture due to the oil :)

Thank you! Yeah, phone shot, sometimes fiddling with ~filters~ in iOS app "Foodie", like with the pasta, but most times no filter looks best, like the salad.

Unrelated:

I have been informed by my wife that the garnish was actually cilantro leaves, but there are indeed roughly chopped cilantro in there too. Here's the book's photo, for comparison:

The best thing you can do to get decent photos of anything is to have good lighting. If your kitchen is dark and/or has a combination of lightbulb types, you're going to get a grainy, blurry, off color photo.

Edit: or have one of the latest generation phones. I swear whatever photo processing software that Google built into the pixel camera is loving magic.

Did you cook the veggies at all or just throw them into the hot pasta and let the residual heat do the work?
