Gonna recreate the company that sold cheap Disney shovelware and went bankrupt 5 seconds after they couldn't.

Like any future article about them is going to mention when they teamed up with the website blacklisted from google for hosting child porn, Nazis, and ISIS recruiters No but don't you see associating with Nazis is always profitable

I hope I'm wrong- Trials Rising first impression is the "anthem" of the series. I'm only level 30 something and worried: Rising is super good when you get to actually play. No doubt about it. I would describe it as Trials but more ground based than air. Aggressively ground. That is as good as it sounds. There is player and bike customization I wasn't expecting in a good way too. Think forza style liveries but with an unnecessary mechanism (loot crate) to unlock all the designs. I think they needed to pad the loot boxes and they chose that step. A misdirection but I understand why. Obscene amounts of loading screens. It's bad. 45 min load/ 30 min game is not exaggeration. Essentially every time you click on A button you are either watching a loot crate animation or loading. Sometimes biking. "Contracts" can be as lame as X amount of backflips and X amount of front flips and also beat X character within time limit. Uninspiring. This is my main hope to either be reworked or flat out removed. There are bonus skill game missions. Bailout mechanic is still tacked on. Kinda cool distraction. Definitely some funny ragdoll animations. Just like FMX though you will probably never revisit these once you beat them. Multiplayer online is what you'd expect and still fun. Expect to play easy maps over and over though. With all that said the bikes are very cool. Soundtrack is top tier. I'm mad at this game but also would recommend the purchase.

I will sign on 100% to those opinions, it's a great Trials game with some really cool tracks that I've seen so far but everything that isn't the actual bike platforming is incredibly wretched. I'm approaching the point where I just stop bothering to open loot boxes because it's so much busywork to wait for them to load their contents, play the opening animation, see it was just a bunch of stickers and go sell the duplicates since you have to do that manually. I already got my full denim look so I don't need anything else. But the actual Trials stuff is good, the contracts are unobtrusive at best, and the tutorial stuff is actually effective at teaching the advanced tech you need to complete the harder tracks.

Just want to say that generally, if a game developer's management fucks up, anyone interviewing former employees won't blame them but they may ask then stuff like "so tell about what it was like when you guys hosed up". If a company has lovely culture issues like lots of reports about harassment, those folks are getting uber googled, though.

Went to cracker barrel for dinner yesterday, drat I love their food. Idk if the general opinion of cracker barrel is good or bad, I have a history of being simple-minded and easily pleased so for all I know it could be considered peasant food and I still enjoy going there, one of my fave restaurants. I had the spicy grilled catfish and man I forgot how good catfish tastes. mutata posted:Just want to say that generally, if a game developer's management fucks up, anyone interviewing former employees won't blame them but they may ask then stuff like "so tell about what it was like when you guys hosed up". Well I'm glad that the employees aren't so easily tainted by the fuckups of their management.

I liked New Dawn, it was a fun waste of ~14 hours without a distractingly awful story. Which for a Far Cry game is pretty good.

I was close to bouncing on Tomb Raider Anniversary but I made it to Egypt and I'm glad I persevered because this is what the rest of the game should have been. The platforming is challenging without being bullshit and the puzzles are just the right level where it takes thought to figure out but not so much that it becomes frustrating. I also really like how the game has covered three very different styles of tomb, it makes for some really nice variety.

Kinda sucks to have another publisher to cross off my list forever, I was gonna pick up Darksiders 3 when it came down a bit. Guess we shouldn't be surprised from a company named Nordic though.
