I would say go ahead and write them off, the Japanese is basic "first E-J dictionary result" level and it's all typed out in basic hiragana. Real design documents would probably be handwritten but even if not they would definitely use Kanji... And correct Japanese.

EDIT: for clarity, they use the word "Keiteki" for horn and that means horn like a foghorn. Animal horns are "tsuno."

But seriously, strong starter opinions never end (nor should they, they're fun), people still argue over the best gen 1 starters and sometimes say things other than "Bulbasaur" and are thus wrong.

In the opening cutscene after you pick your Pokemon you carry it but you trip and fall on it and it dies if you fail a QTE and then you have a ghost type
